After searching through various ruins in the dark, Alptraum and Tulani come across one that is guarded. The pair easily disable the guards, and enter the ruins.

Moving down a stairway that plunges into the hill, they encounter a strange mist that causes them to hallucinate and plays on Tulani's claustrophia. Realizing that it's an illusion, Alptraum gets them through it. They come upon a dirty room where people have obviously been living, with a curtained archway at one end. There are glowing, star-headed stick-figures on the walls, just as in the paintings they'd seen the posessed Ravenia produce.

Peeking through the curtains reveals a painfully bright chamber with a strange sort of altar in the center, and they can hear someone moving around inside. They formulate a plan to trip anyone that may come out of the chamber and Tulani calls out, mentioning that one of the guards has fallen.

To the Eeee and Sphynx's surprise, a calm voice invites Tulani in by name, as if expecting her. She enters to see an illusion of a balcony on some castle, and an old Khatta who matches the description of the sorcerer and introduces himself as Abzhalom Dack. He also suggests Tulani invite her 'female' companion to join them, and is shocked when Alptraum enters, clearly having expected someone completely different…
