After the language lesson, Layth shows Tasha some dance techniques. The Vartan tries them herself, but can't seem to manage to be elegant or demure. Layth turns her over to Aisha to work with, and after a few attempts the doe suggests Tasha just be herself, aggressive and bold.

The travelers then board The Calligenia, a fishing boat outfitted for smuggling and crewed by Fedor's relatives. Tasha talks to the captain and learns about how boats vary from airships, while Layth goes to the galley to prepare dinner and get to know one of the Kavi crewmembers.

In the morning, people busy themselves with various tasks to stave off boredom.
