Francisco visits Chiri's clinic tent, inquiring about the strange wound he has on the back of his neck. Chiri examines it, and is amazed that the fox was able to walk in by himself, given the severity of the wound, and how much cleaning she has to do.
Chiri is unable to explain the cause of the wound, and offers to continue cleaning it and to stitch it up, but Francisco is dubious, in light of Chiri's earlier trickery. When Francisco reveals that he finally figured out that the pills Chiri gave him caused his spectacular case of flatulence in the Bazaar, Chiri says that she was paid an iron shekel for the stunt by some mysterious Naga.
This further annoys Francisco, who leaves, without letting Chiri do any stitches. He takes the necromantic staff he acquired from the Old Cemetery, and strikes the ground with it. A demonic-looking goat-headed entity forms. Francisco stands in indecision, while Chiri vainly attacks the beast. At last, he dismisses the apparition, and proceeds to command Chiri to tell him more about the Naga that paid her to perform that trick on him.
Chiri flings one of her daggers at Francisco, and it hits him in the gut. She screams at him to leave, or she'll throw another dagger. Francisco does so … but he uses the staff again, and commands it to "deal with her" … as he slips away, letting the demonic entity do his dirty work.
