Envoy takes the collapsed snake mage Isstan back to the camp, while Kaela returns to the monastery (this time with a light source!) to retrieve her dress and jewelry … to fully look the part of Princess Emerald-Eyes. Envoy and Kaela meet back outside the palace and venture inside, where Kaela confronts the Priest-King while Envoy observes silently. Kaela presents to the Priest-King the extent of his atrocities, bidding him to turn from this horror. At last, Kaela and Envoy flee as the palace starts collapsing around them … and escape for the surrounding ruins while the handiwork of the Priest-King explodes in a magical fury. A new day dawns … but Kaela, while princess, is also slave, and a long road still remains in front of her
