Arkold meets some of his fellow legionnaires for a game of "Collegia Pocque", a Sinai poker equivalent. The game is interrupted before it begins by a surprise appearance by Prince-Captain Rashad, who has a "surprise inspection", but he leaves soon enough. The legionnaires then resume setting up for their game. Scrimshaw pulls out a deck of cards with scantily clad females depicted on it, and Kris objects … but not because of the pictures – rather, because the cards are in such poor condition that they're pretty much marked. Scrimshaw pulls out another deck, and they begin playing. By the end of the game, Arkold comes out on top.
