Envoy visits Chiaroscuro at his room in the Monkey's Head Tavern, with Bem tagging along. She tells Chipper how she hooked up with the Zelak, and he in turn tells her about his turn of poor finances. Envoy eventually asks for help in locating Isstan, the Naga mind mage she encountered on the expedition to the City of Hands, so that she can ask him about criminal mind mages. Since the mongoose is recognized at the College, he agrees to find the Naga for her.
