Kaela, in the Bazaar, witnesses a Savanite slave belonging to "Honest Makah" being sent out to pursue a thieving little creen, to the jeers of some young warrioresses. She assists him, though Fenter manages to turn it all into something approaching a disaster, resulting in the death of hundreds … hundreds of bugs, that is. (Or, really, nobody bothered counting.) And, at the end of it all, Kaela seems to have a new companion
