Jonas has been travelling with the armored knight for some time now, and has begun to pick up the language of Bosch – the Forbidden Zone in which he has arrived on Sinai. Jonas learns that the armored warrior's liege is known as "Overlord Nosh'ma", and that they are travelling to see "Overlord Gonaghlut" at the Cascades of Fire. There, they pay their respects to the oversized monster, and Jonas does his best to avoid provoking the monster or to be overwhelmed by the wickedness around him. As they leave, a monster starts an incident, and the travellers are forced to flee, but Jonas takes advantage of the flimsy and precarious construction of Gonaghlut's court, making good their escape. Through the passage guarded by the less-than-brilliant living Gate, the travellers leave the Forbidden Zone, coming down from the mountains in the much more "normal" land of Chronotopia, where a raccoon family offers them hospitality
