The Expedition crew is growing restless with their protracted stay on they sky Island. Vegetation has sprung up in the wake of the visitor's presence, including many berry trees. As Fenter and Bassai pass the time experimenting with their 'lesser probes', a creen alights on one of the nearby trees.
The creen is a Chireechiree Rainbow Berry-Snatcher, and the scout for a large swarm. Catching the berry-full birds, they attach notes in the hope that the creens will live up to the Spirit Messenger status they have in Nagai myths.
Several days later an airship arrives, following the creens. It bears Prefect Sssarkan of Ring Valley, a Naga known to Bassai. The Archaeologist tries to make the best impression possible, under the circumstances, and claims many things – including the Sky Island. The Prefect is very interested in the discoveries, and is given a tour of the island. Bassai's Expedition now has a way home.
