Icarus has been learning a lot from Walter about plumbing, electronics and welding as they repair parts of the base and begin construction of a new vehicle frame. Envoy has been feeling more 'domestic', cleaning and doing laundry.

In order to make the new vehicle fly, it needs some sort of gravity propulsion system, and Envoy has been experimenting. She manages to create a permanently enchanted disc that floats in the air. From this, the three discuss different ways of applying the methods to a working aircraft.

After a general plan of how to do it is agreed upon, someone bangs on the hangar door. The supplies Envoy ordered have finally arrived, and Icarus floats the crate inside to where they can open it up.

There is a cookbook, clothing and food, including candy. While Envoy convinces Walter to be the one to cook the meat (grilling being a male prerogative) they discuss visiting the city to get Icarus acclimated to others. At the bottom of the crate is a letter as well.

The letter is from the High Council of Caroban, demanding that Envoy submit a report and appear before them within six months to sort out the matter of her alleged transgressions and rumored destruction of the Life Dome.
