Having pulled Lilac aside, Umeko takes Lilac to the baths in order to try and calm her down. The two talk at length, about what had happened inside the Temple of Being, of responsibility, and other things. In the end, Umeko is able to mostly settle her friend, even brighten her spirits, before she departs to address military matters. Lilac remains, taking some time to think and relax in the warm water.
