Layth and Aaron prepare to sleep in Captain Eyeshine's spare hammocks, although the captain is nowhere to be found. Layth claims the top hammock, and can't help but tease Aaron (in a very polite manner) about his appearing in Tasha's painting as a eunach. Aaron defends himself, and denies being after Tasha – he just has a weakness for women, which Layth apparently does not share.

Aaron tells Layth more about Aisha and Calligenia, so that he knows a bit more of what to expect when dealing with the two girls. Layth appreciates the information, and remembers that he promised to bring Aisha extra blankets.

Leaving the captain's quarters, Layth heads below deck to get the blankets and check in on the does.
