After coming across a portion of one of the castles towers that was thrown into the woods by an unknown force, the trio reach the castle and run into Igor. The Skreek's appearance shocks them at first, but they eventually follow him to the castle kitchen.

Zahn goes into the courtyard to watch for the morning flight of Dr. Pike, while the girls get to know Igor (which involves a short debate about the preparation of breakfast foods) and the evil one-eyed creen called Gaspode.

Outside, Zahn meets Pike and gets to measure her wings, explaining a bit more about his goal of building a new kind of airship. Pike tells him about some of the data she has on such things (such as a report on the flight of the Spirit of Titania on Rephidim) and agrees to let him reference them in exchange for his technical services.

When everyone gets back together for breakfast, Zahn and Gaspode get off on the wrong foot, which causes the girls to giggle and Zahn to retreat outside again, where Igor treats his scratches and reveals a bit about his own history.
