Fighting through the horde of chaos is difficult, even with the power of the two mages. But eventually the Chronotopians prevail, at some cost.

Qing, Natasha, Olivia and Amelia (who is covered in goo from the fight) meet Captain Bannan Von Ril – who resembles Bravil closely, but clearly is not the same man. Olivia surmises from the letters that he must be Bravil's son, and that Bravil himself is the Baron Viktor Von Ril.

After resting, the Captain apprises them of the hopelessness of their situation, but the mages think they can fight off the horde, if they can work uninterrupted on a ritual to raise the spirits of the fallen soldiers to fight once more.
