Leeta and Tahir are in their cabin, and both bored with their work. The Savanite asks the Human some very unpleasant questions, speculating about Delwin and Cerbancos' murder, and how factions in the Temple may be using the candidacy test to grab power for themselves; Tahir and Rhys may be pawns in this game, or something more. Her curiousity leads her to ask about one other thing, the Silent Ones and the nature of their relationship with the Expedition. Tahir explains that they were not at war, though the Silent Ones did conquer other races, and were not well liked. He also describes their great robot ships, and powered armour – some of which survives in some for amongst the Templars to this day.
Naoko interupts with her chance for Leeta to search Rhys' room. Cleaning as she goes, the fire-haired Savanite finds some unusual beads, an odd Star necklace, and a strange picture. Hearing the Airship dock, she grabs some discarded paper from the wastebasket, and returns to her room via the kitchen.
