Kin, Xander, and Lilac head off into the Savan with Long Shadow. Amazingly, they locate the downed airship … only its under attack! And to make matters worse, Anisa is trapped in the wreckage. They manage to get everyone down, but Xander is injured. There they learn the sad state that the Imperials are in and work out a battle plan to stop the airship … a strike in the dark. The group moves out under cover of darkness and strike the mooring camp. There Kin falls while defending Long-Shadow. While Long Tooth comes to her aide, Anisa and Gibson manage to route their opponents. Far above Lilac sets a bomb on the ship … only to discover it wasn't enough to take down the airship. With things looking grim, the group is at least granted a small respite when the calvary arrives.
