Once Amy leaves, Olivia and Djivan get into the pool to wash up. Olivia uses the special soap Amy left them, which makes Djivan's skin tingle. Olivia asks about his family, after having met his scoundrel of a father. Djivan isn't very comfortable talking about it at first, but eventually tells Olivia how his parents met, with his father playing the part of the 'hero bandit'.

Djivan's mother came from a well-off family in Northern Shore, and ended up disowning her over the embarrassment of her pregnancy. She went to Djivan's father, who took her in only long enough to get her jewelry, then cast her out saying he never wanted to see her or her offspring again.

She ended up with the Shadows Walk gypsies, and spent her time teaching them how to read and write. Djivan recalls that she was never angry about his father, and never blamed Djivan for the turn her life had taken. He described the amazing funeral that Natasha had given his mother when she passed on a few years back.
