After lots of weird dreams, Alptraum wakes up with Kaira in the bed with him and Phlagaea preparing a bath. It turns out the stuff Phlagaea used to mark their fur last night is caustic and needs to be washed out soon.

Once in the bath, Phlagaea notes she'd be willing to help Alptraum out with some service to Sunala, which prompts the Eeee to ask about ways of rendering someone unconscious. He explains the situation with the Frogmilker: a possessing spirit needs to be removed, but can kill the woman if he's forced.

They discuss various methods, but Phlagaea concludes that the spirit of the highwayman has to actually desire to leave – which means he needs to be tempted out. This brings up Mave and her demon-baiting routine.

Phlagaea finally suggests setting up a situation where the Frogmilker and her possessor see Alptraum 'restore' a spirit to life.

Grabbing onto that thought, Alptraum later goes to Mortimer the Reaper, to try and flesh it out and come up with a working scenario to try. Kaira is there with her own suggestions as well.
