Remembering the colored bottles she's seen the Silverfoots use, Olivia heads over to their territory at the edge of the swamp, and is directed to the tree the Briar's call home. She's greeted by Curiel and let up to the living room, where Aiken is playing with their daughter Kiona.

Once he's settled down, Aiken says he can take Olivia to see Curiel's cousin Birch, who is the clan glassblower. Since their wedding anniversary is coming up, Curiel also asks Olivia about babysitting.

They manage to catch Birch before he completely closes shop for the day, and he agrees to make some glass jewelry for Olivia in exchange for some ribbons and other decorations to go with the glass figurines he makes (mostly for tourists).

Remembering the anniversary, Aiken also asks Birch about making a gift for Curiel.
