Zoltan returns to the Temple, and meets with Arch-Inquisitor Melchizedek, telling him what he knows of the "Boomer" weapon that the Nagai have in their possession. He then visits Golgotha, where he learns that some training exercises have been taking place, and that Delta Lance did pretty well against the Magenta Lance in a "suicide mission". He confers with the Champion of Roses, letting her know the situation about the Boomers, and learns that there are plans to put together the Violet Lance – and that Zoltan might well become a Lancer.
