Willow, a Skreek bent on seeing Francisco the Kitsune brought to justice, shops for insectoid supplies in the Bazaar. She overhears talk that Avram the Zolk Merchant has not had his booth up in a while, and she also hears mention of Francisco. She investigates, and goes along with two merchants to check up on the zolk-dealing fennec. At the house, they find that Avram and his family has been murdered … though there is no sign of the daughter, Rache.

Willow rubs a charcoal pencil over a pad of parchment on Avram's writing desk, and finds that he was in the process of writing a letter to the Collegia Esoterica to report an attack on his daughter … by Francisco. It is evident that he never finished the letter.

The merchants and other Bazaar-goers that gather around are horrified at the scene, and as Willow makes her speech, she gains several allies in her quest to fight the vulpine murderer.
