Envoy and Brishen find that Aski Medes has moved recently, and walk down to the Bazaar in search of him… where they find him speaking to someone recently returned to the city, Buran. Bambridge entertains Jynx and Brishen as 'Woodrow the Wondrous' with a magic trick show, and only after some recrimination for slim pay-offs and telling a ghost story does Bambridge discover that Jynx was there at the graveyard with him when the strange events of shadow-raising took place. Meanwhile, Envoy discovers Aski's bitterness and poverty caused by her ill-thought out actions at an auction, and after Aski suffers a heart attack, quickly remedied by Buran, Aski agrees to sell Envoy a map to Shkarkin Hive, but only if she will think her actions through better in the future… Buran, as well, has earned Aski's favor, for what good that's worth.
