Anisa and Aaron are guests at a feast on the Apex of Dagh – what would be two days before the New Year's on the Rephidim calendar, and the Apex of Illusion on the Arcane Calendar. Afterward, they witness sacrificial ceremonies at the Temple of Dagh. The "secret" of Clan Kerberos, and why they are able to offer so many sacrifices is that they use (non-anthropomorphic) rabbits imported from Sylvania in lieu of Lapi sacrifices – and according to the locals, this suffices to satisfy the gods. However, Anisa witnesses the sacrifice of a defeated Lapi warrioress, which disturbs her. She tells Lucia about how Rephidim celebrates holidays with parades and parties.
