Aaron and Anisa travel to Caroban, where they meet up with Aaron's cousin, Xander Lightfoot (also known as "Hotfoot"), a fire mage – and his friend, Spring Meadow (an earth mage). They go out to Enchanted Cuisine, where Anisa gets her first taste of Caroban-style magical showmanship.
