Chiaroscuro begins his investigation by making his way to Levitha's Blanket, to speak with the innkeeper, the only person in the Half Valley to have treated him halfway nicely. On the way, Zieekal explains a little about the Pearl, some local legends, and current ties to the island. They reach the inn, and the two part ways for the night, Kal needing to get his affairs in order before taking the trip. This leaves Chiaroscuro to spend the evening chatting with Piksil. She sets him up with a room at the inn, and Chiaroscuro thinks back to someone in Rephidim before dozing off…
