Thanks to Lilith's information and a map prepared for Tulani, the pair are able to fly north into the mountains to the town of Cataract. There they find the gypsy troupe that Alptraum grew up with.

Alptraum is very nervous at first, unsure how he'll be received since he's changed so much – but his adoptive mother Sabine immediately hugs him when they meet. He tells her a bit about his current life, and asks about his parents maybe settling down, but the idea is difficult for his mother to grasp.

Meanwhile, Alptraum's friend Hexen the black fox is busily flirting with Tulani, which the Sphynx finds very charming and amusing.
