After being kidnapped, trussed up and dragged through the swamp, Gunther finds himself in a cave facing a cowled figure – which turns out to be Emmett Oggton, asking if he really wanted to join the Otter Scouts.

When Gunther says he does want to join, Emmett shows him a notebook full of drawings of fun-looking machines and written all in Skeek, and asks the Kadie if he can build some of the stuff.

Gunther says that he can, with a little help from the notebook's author.
