Fenter leads Jaundice and Envoy to the house of Mort, a supposed "friend" of his who is apparently a retired explorer. Mort turns out to be an old jupani, quite deaf and on the verge of being senile. After much screaming into the wolf's ears… he finally proclaims that there is no such thing as a squeep. After he falls asleep he begins to mutter things about plumbing and kavi's, which leads Envoy to believe that a squeep might be a plumbing tool of somesort.
