Everyone is having dinner in the aftermath of a small meteor shower that struck Fetiss Sky Island. Bassai is questioning Ibis about what transpired after he left on the island, when the Vykarins raise a commotion outside. A strange plantlike being enters their tent, causing some discomfort. The tentacles of the creature writhe in an unusual manner, resembling Kame Ikata's paintings. The being explains that it is looking for some probes, then presents Bassai with a large berry. The archaeologist divides the fruit up, and everyone has a piece, as the being departs saying that 'the others' show too much interest in this world.
Following, Bassai insists on asking more questions, which prompts the visitor to produce two pods. The seeds instantly sprout into plants which bear a little resemblance to Fenter and Bassai. These 'lesser probes' apparently will learn to communicate if given enough attention. Bassai has not more questions and everyone watches as the visitor climbs up the mountain, changes, then fires its seed pod into orbit and beyond.
