Lochinvar, journeying through Himar, encounters an Abaddon Hog that has treed what seems to be a Vartan child. Lochinvar leads the hog away from the tree, then flies back to rescue the child. The child turns out to be strangely deformed, having scales in place of fur or feathers in some spots, and is unable to fly. Lochinvar carries the child away from danger.
