After having been escorted to the Med Bay, Tasha is given a complete scan as a upset Gabriel looks on. PersoCom Caravelli oversees the process, noting, among other things, limbic intrusion in to Tasha's brain. This alarms all three of them and shows Tasha to be a potential danger, and so Gabriel revokes her codes and orders her in to quarantine. The two exchange words, but things are strained between them. Physically and emotionally exhausted, Tasha asks to be sedated.
Hours later, Tasha awakens in better physical condition, if not exactly better emotionally. Dr. Caravelli is there to greet her, and explains his theories on both Tasha's implants and her behavior. The two talk at length, the PersoCom revealing he is also the ship's psychologist, and together manage to uncover some of the young woman's deeper emotional problems. The revelation helps Tasha understand herself, which in turn helps her begin to understand others.
