Zoltan researches some fragments of notes found aboard an airship discovered suspended beneath the sky island of Paradys. He spends many hours piecing bits together, and figures out that Shokar must have constructed the ship in order to make use of strange technology to ride up and down beams of energy transferred between the sky island and the Forbidden Zones it passes over. It is also evident from the maps and notes that Shokar had visited Aeztepa at least once. Zoltan fears that Shokar may have ended his days as a pawn of Amenlichtli.
On a new day of researching, Zoltan tries a wild gambit, and just tries to feel the area for any magical auras that may be lingering. Find them he does … as he has strange visions of experiences that happened in contact with the stream of energy and this odd airship. Zoltan relives some of Shokar's experiences, learning of Shokar's failed attempts to land in various Forbidden Zones (including Bosch, as it turns out), and of his encounter with the Champion of Amber (or perhaps an earlier person holding that title). Zoltan also has reason to wonder whether his adopted children Enos and Pouncer might actually be mixed-blood descendants of Shokar himself!
