Lochinvar has another dream of the doomed victims of the "boomer" attack on Babel, then wakes up to find himself in his parents' house, still in the village. He gets up for breakfast, and finds the villagers eager to pay their respects to him, before he heads off for his journey to catch up with an airship to Rephidim. He finds a moment to go speak privately with Ariecha, making plain his romantic interest in her, and urging her to come with him to Rephidim – or, at least, to come visit sometime.
