Finally approaching Nagai City to fulfill the Emperor's summons, Umeko, Lilac and Xander nervously await their fate. Called to the deck, they arrive only to find the whole city in celebration of their victories at Viper's Hold. The HMS Equalizer, their massive ship, even enters the city itself, proceeding among the cityscape to the Emperor's place where it docks. All along the way the people of Nagai drum their tails, cheering them and their new hero: Lady Umeko Tsuguri. Soon, the massive warships docks and the three are escorted to stand before the Emperor himself. He honors the three by gliding upon them, most of his weight set upon Umeko, and addresses Umeko specifically to listen to her deeds and offer his congratulations. Rewards are offered, and in particular Umeko is granted both land in Viper's Hold and an Imperial commission, though she tells the Emperor she must leave again, at least for a time. As the ceremony concludes, the party is lead out, surrounded by a gaggle of well-wishers and curious nobility.
