With the help of a pillow supplied by the twin dream mages, Kiz and Kell, Rory has a bizzare dream about what is supposed to be his past. After finding himself in a chamber with three doors marked 'Beginning', 'Middle', and 'End', he chooses the 'Beginning' door and is wisked away to a world inhabited by unicorns like himself. He watched them get captured by dragons, the females are cursed somehow by the dragon's leader, and then all of them are banished to parts unknown. Rory awakens from his dream and questions the two dream mages about it, but it still makes little sence to him
