In her room in Nagai City, Lilac receives a personal letter from none other than Tinsips himself, the scholar she met with the others in Rephidim. While it takes her a moment to puzzle out the letter's true intention, Gibson helping her along, she realizes the letter is actually an invitation to join the secretive group Gibson, Anisa and Umeko are part of. Jumping at the chance to belong and to be of use, Lilac accepts the invitation and meets the group in the dark backstreets of Nagai City. A interview begins, hooded members reviewing Lilac's strengths and weaknesses, of which, she learns there are many of both. Although hardly a universal vote, Lilac is accepted, and becomes a Curator despite various reservations expressed by some of the members present. The group reveals itself to the young bardess, friends old and new congratulating her. Soon, the mood shifts to concern as the gathered members discuss what it means to be a Curator in the most immediate sense: what to do about Vandringar and the Aspect Orbs. Lilac's homeland, it seems, is the human woman's first assignment.
