    Castle Ravensweir Courtyard
The courtyard of the cliff-perched fortress offers a spectacular view of the Vykarin sea – in part because the low wall facing it has collapsed over the side of the cliff. A wooden stage has been erected, festooned with garlands of flowers and ivy and plenty of red roses. Sprays of roses have been set about the area as well. Several rows of bench seats, formed into two columns, face the stage, and the wedding guests (mostly locals and soldiers, including the Yodhblakat) sit expectantly.

The big day has finally arrived, after far too much preparation in Arkold's opinion. The big wolf stands on the stage in his official livery as Knight-Sheriff – all reds and greens and gold frogging – while an Eeee woman of matching color stands next to him, adorned in the formal robes of a High Priestess of Inala.

Next to Arkold stands the best man, a black furred, white-haired Eee dressed in formal tails, but with a bright red cummerbund and white vest to contrast. On the opposite side of the stage stand the row of bridesmaids, all dressed in low-cut red gowns with white sashes; a black furred Sphynx with white hair, a white-furred vampire Eeee with black hair, another Eeee who is green, and a blue dragon with golden hair.

The four-piece orchestra is playing the Sylvanian wedding march, which is not quite a dirge but can seem like it for some. A pair of young Korv flower girls lay out a trail of rose petals for the approaching bride, dressed in a red gown that shows even more than those of the bridesmaids, given that the bride doesn't have wings. A red veil covers her face, and the long train sweeps up the rose petals. She holds a bouquet of red and black roses and is escorted by an elegantly dressed all-black Eeee woman with glowing red eyes and a stately manner.

"I feel bizarre in formal-ware. I guess I should get used to it if I intend to stay with the Countess, eh?" Alptraum remarks to Arkold. "And how's the hangover? Is it keeping you from getting too nervous?"

"Hangover never stopped me before," Arkold replies as he reaches up and adjusts his coat. Perhaps to everyone's surprise, he seems to know how to wear formal attire, and even how to stand to look noble. Head tilted slightly up, golden mane tied in a stately knot, and sword at his hip makes him look like a real knight. "There was a time," he adds after a moment, "when I dressed more formally than you've seen me. Looks like it's all come full circle, eh? An' you'll get used to it, jus' like I got used to dressin' common."

"I can't help but wish I was standing where you are now and that Rose was the bride walking this way," Alptraum admits quietly. "But … maybe some day. And no, you haven't come full circle. You remember the time we were at the Smiths? The night where we both laid out why we were doing what we were? I think … well, this is you finding that peace you wanted. For an old scoundrel, you did good."

The Black and white Sphynx watches the procession with a smile, though she does sniffle a little bit at the brides approach, leaning over a to whisper to the white Eee next to her, "Ravenia looks so beautiful doesn't she? I can hardly believe the weddings finally happening."

"I can hardly believe she didn't make us all go naked," Lilith whispers back. But then the music dies down as Ravenia steps onto the stage. Her escort winks at Alptraum and goes to sit in the front row.

"Friends and honored guests," Mave intones, "We have gathered here to witness the bonding of Arkold and Ravenia's hearts, so that their love will be known and blessed. In the eyes of Inala, they will be as one, sharing equally in Her love, and being fruitful as She deems so. They will become each others altar, there to worship and praise the Goddess of Love and Happiness."

Ravenia smiles up at Arkold, the white of her teeth flashing through the red lace of her veil.

Alptraum sets his jaw for a moment, then smiles and nods slightly to Ravenia's escort. "Someday," he thinks, then returns his focus to the matter at hand.

"I guess I did, at that." The wolf smiles at the thought, abd even more so as he turns to watch Ravenia approach. "A man can only 'ope for peace in his life time, Bats. When an' if you find it, hold on to it, for 'owever long it lasts. An' if it doesn', remember that sometimes it comes again." He pats Alptraum's shoulder, and steps forward to take his place beside his bride.

Tulani starts to look a little teary-eyed as Mave begins to speak.

Stepping forward between bride and groom, Mave turns to Arkold and kisses him full on the lips. "Accept the blessings of Inala, and your love will never flag, nor will your staff. Bring satisfaction to your mate, so that she is never wanting, and ease her days with your tenderness." The priestess turns next to Ravenia, kissing her, and offering, "Accept the blessings of Inala, and your womb will be ever fecund, your beauty will never diminish in the eyes of your mate, and he will be forever your faithful servant." Stepping back, she asks, "Do you both accept the blessings of Inala?"

"Withou' hesitation, I do," Arkold answers. He must be either in love or more smooth than some may take him for, because even when Mave kisses him, he doesn't stop looking at Ravenia.

"I do," Ravenia says, actually sounding a little nervous about it all. The red veil hides any blush she might have on her pitch-black skin however.

'Not gonna cry… not… gonna… cry' Tulani mentally whispers to herself as her vision starts to tear up… 'Not gonna… Oh Drat!' The Sphynx sniffles loudly and obviously, stifling a teary hiccup.

"You have chosen to show your bond to the world with rings forged from gold," Mave says. "Gold from treasure found while you traveled together, so that it has witnessed your growing love." Here the Priestess nods to Alptraum and Tulani, as the two ring-bearers.

Alptraum has to suppress a goofy grin at Tulani's breaking down. He quickly snaps his attention back when Mave nods towards him and he takes one step forward, waiting for the formal request for Ravenia's ring. He stands tall and proud; hard to believe he was raised as nothing more than a gypsy performer. He's been part of many ceremonies … but this is one of a very few that feels important.

Taking a deep breath in an attempt to regain some composure, Tulani also steps forwards, holding forwards the golden ring meant for Arkold.

Ravenia accepts the ring from Tulani, and grins while she twirls it around in her fingers. "This does go on your finger, right?" she asks Arkold.

Alptraum waits for Ravenia to place Arkold's ring before he hands the wolf his ring for her. His lips twitch at Ravenia's comment; the Eeee so wanting to laugh. "You are such a dark elf," he thinks to himself.

Arkold's brow goes up at that question, then he grins. "Proper now, dear. We'll have plenty of time to discuss other options later," he replies. He extends his hand and accepts the ring on his finger, smiling at Tulani. "I should thank you for this, if I didn't run into you, m'dear, this wouldn' be." He then returns his gaze to Ravenia, smiling a bit more.

Tulani smiles proudly at Arkold… followed by a subdued sniffle.

Alptraum gently rolls the ring in his hand, then presents it to Arkold. He even bows his head respectfully to the older wolf.

Ravenia holds her hand out expectantly.

Ring in hand, Arkold takes Ravenia's and proceeds to slip it on. "A treasure for a treasure, is wha' an' old pirate tol' me. Wha' a wise man he was," he says.

"By the divine will of Inala, I pronounce you husband and wife," Mave intones, arms and wings raised high. "You may now ravish the bride," she tells Arkold. "We can have pillows stacked up if you want to do it here… "

"We're all willing to watch," Alptraum adds in. "To make sure you do it right, of course."

Kaira and Phlagaea just exchange glances. This is probably the fist wedding they've ever attended. Lilith just tries not to laugh.

Even in her emotionally uncomposed state, Tulani still can't help but stifle a chuckle at Mave's suggestion… though it a bit of a wet sound considering her still teary eyes.

"There will be time for that, nice and proper, but we're nobility now – we have to be examples. So I say: let everyone enjoy themselves." He raises a hand, then adds, "And as I am a example to you, I give you this: a kiss, to remember." Throwing his cloak aside, he steps forward and scoops Ravenia up in his big, strong arms. Casting her veil away, he dips forward and presses his muzzle against the woman's lips!

The wedding guests all cheer!

    Main Hall, Castle Ravensweir
The main hall of the castle is big and well-lit by tall and wide windows open to a balcony overlooking the sea. Two giant candle-lit chandeliers provide extra light. The stone floor has been overlaid with wood to form a dance area, and the long high table is decorated for the wedding party. Smaller tables hug the walls around the dance area, and the quartet sits upon a raised platform in one corner.

The food has been served, and then served again in a way the Yodhblakat would be comfortable with. The music is playing softly, and the various bubbling wines have been poured. There is laughter from the wedding party's table, where the bride is telling off-color stories about Arkold to her bridesmaids.

Alptraum lets out a long breath. "Never thought I would see the day," he comments to himself, "But then there have been a lot of things I never expected." He looks over those gathered and genuinely smiles, one of the few times in his life he's simply happy. No complex problems to solve. No expectations to fulfill. "So, feel any differently?" he asks as he leans over to Arkold.

After crying for a short while, and practically throwing herself on Ravenia's shoulder to assure the now married woman that she is just 'so very happy for her', Tulani seems to have finally settled down, and is smiling at one of Ravens comments, sipping from a drink currently in hand.

"This wine tickles my nose," Kaira notes. "Does it tickle your noses too? I mean… yours are all smaller," she asks the other bridesmaids.

Arkold's sitting at the groom's table, beer in hand, leaning forward as he talks to the others with him. "When I first met her, I thought she was a vampire," he says, conspiratorial. "But she runs as warm as the plains of Abaddon. Of course, maybe I jus' got 'er blood running, an' I'm a cure for vampirisim." He laughs, and winks to show he doesn't really mean any of it. Turning to Alptraum, he raises his mug to salute him. "Life withou' surprises is a borin' life, Alp. An' as to feel, I do feel differen'. I feel at ease, a bit 'ow you feel after a long journey's done, an' you've come home to a hot meal and a warm hearth. 'Cept, havn't had any of that for a long time. It's nice. I hope you find it, too."

"Yes, it tickles my nose too Kaira… probably not as much as yours though." Tulani tells the dragon across from her with a grin, rubbing her own nose to make her point.

"Oh, I'm sure some day I will," Alptraum replies cheerfully.

"I don't understand none of this," an already tipsy Roogi tells Ravenia and the others. "You just grabs a man, right? And when he's got boring, you grab another! Well… so I've been told!"

"It's been a long time since I've been to a wedding where the bride and groom were getting married out of love," Rosalind tells Ravenia, looking a bit teary-eyed herself. "I'm just glad you could all be here! And it isn't like anything will really change for me and Arkold, other than it being a threesome for the honeymoon," Ravenia says, setting her black-and-red bouquet in the center of the table until it's time to toss it.

"I think so, too. And here, I wanted you to have something:" Arkold shifts in his seating position, and reaches down to draw out his Emirate scimitar. This he offers to Alptraum, as a gift. "I figure you'll see a lot more trouble than I will, an' I'd like you to think I'm always there to 'elp, even if I'm not there in person. It's a good blade – real steel, from when that was worth more. You could use it with your dagger."

"I'm just so happy for you and Arkold!" Tulani says as she flashes the dark-skinned human a bright smile, "I'm sure you two will be very happy together. But don't be afraid to give me a call if he misbehaves, I'll run right over to knock some sense into him." the Sphynx finishes, her smile widening into a humorous grin.

Alptraum actually looks surprised. He gently takes the covered scimitar from the wolf. "I … I don't really know what to say. Are you sure you don't want this? It's been with you for so long and carries so many memories," the Eeee says quietly.

"'Course it has, and 'course it does. That's why I wan' you to have it. A blade's no use hangin' on a mantle, an' I'd rather have it serving you than rusting away with me. This way, you'll always know I'm there for you, if you need me. You're always welcome 'ere, too," the old wolf explains, waving a hand to show it's nothing really.

"Be careful. I might take you up on that offer to stay here now and then," Alptraum tells Arkold as he gently sets the sword onto the table. "I know I've given you a lot of … well, crap. But truth be told, you saved me," the Eeee adds. "Not in the physical sense … but more in the soul. You'll always be family, Arkold."

"I'm sure you'll find a nice man someday, Tulani," Ravenia says, and then in a quieter voice, "One who isn't as weird as the ones we usually have around us!"

"You're like a son to me, Bats. Perverted, a pain in my arse, and willful. Jus' like I always wanted," the old wolf says with a laugh. He pats the Eeee's shoulder and nods. "I'll see about some decent guest quarters, bu' we have a lot of rebuildin' to do. Personally, I like some of the missing bits. Gives it character. Reminds me o' myself, an' all my scars."

Alptraum stands up from his seat, glass in hand. Most people would use silverware to tap it, but Alptraum simply uses one of his chitinous claws. "May I have everyone's attention, please?" he asks the room.

"I don't know Raven… after this, most normal men seem boring!" Tulani jokes with a chuckle, "The strangeness keeps things interesting, doesn't it?" The Sphynx falls silent as Alptraum calls for attention, tilting her ears in the Eee's direction.

The music stops and everyone turns to the groom's table, and Alptraum.

"Nothing like feeling on the spot," Alptraum mutters to himself. "Well, it's tradition for the best man of the wedding to stand and speak about the groom. Traditionally, it's a great way to remind everyone about the most ridiculous and embarrassing moments in his life," the Eeee begins as he starts to pace a bit. With a wave of his his hand, he indicates the seated Jupani, adding, "And the Gods know I have an endless supply about this one."

A general chuckle goes up, and even Kaira perks her ears.

"He's right, you know," Arkold quips at the bat's remark, being a good sport about it. "For a minute I thought he was going to say no moment wasn't embarassin'. Ha!"

Tulani can't help but laugh herself, just managing to keep herself from egging the Eee on for an embarrassing story.

"I've had dozens of stories I thought about telling. But you know what? I'm not going to tell those. I want to tell you about something else," Alptraum remarks and draws in a deep breath. His ears flick, then he continues, "When I met Arkold, I was quite a different person. In truth, I was angry and a bit vindictive. I was mad at everything and my life. And the fates stuck me with this one. Well, one night we were in a swamp, hired to save a family from some marauding undead vampires. One of the girls had just been bittedn and Arkold and I were sitting on the balcony discussing everything from what happened, to everything else wrong with the world."

Arkold's ears perk as he listens, sitting back to watch the Eeee speak. His expression waxes thoughtful, as if he were recalling the very memory. That, or he's forgotten and is desperately trying to look like he hasn't. He does drink a lot, after all.

Tulani listens quietly as Alptraum speaks, she had heard a little about this occurrence, but not much as she hadn't been with the two men when it happened.

Ravenia also shows special interest, since it's from before she really got to know Arkold as well.

"I won't bore you with all the details, but it was that night I saw him differently. With one sentence, he opened my eyes to what I was becoming. I was becoming exactly what I hated the most; uncaring about my actions so long as it meant I got revenge on those who I felt wronged me," Alptraum continues, now looking at the liquid in his glass. "That night changed me. Arkold, is someone who has been through hells and back. Yet, he still smiles. He's been evil. He's done things I know now he's not proud of. But, he accepted it. He took responsibility for it. He told me that night his one real wish was to try and make the world a little better. To try and undo some of the mistakes of his youth and leave a positive impact."

Kaira blinks and whispers to Tulani, "Wow, Arkold's deeper than he lets on. No I feel bad for not letting him squeeze my tail more often."

Arkold smiles as Alptraum talks, and for once, looks a bit embarrassed. He reaches back to scratch at his neck self-consciously. "Funny what a few little words can do when you're not lookin'," he tells no one in particular.

The Sphynx looks at Kaira and actually laughs, "I wouldn't worry too much Kaira, I think Arkold gotten to squeeze plenty of tails in his life."

"He saved me that night," Alptraum continues. "And I've seen him save others since then. Ravenia, Lilith, and many others, be it from monsters or from themselves. He has a greater heart than he'll ever admit to. And for that I want to say I am honored to have been his friend. All of you who will now live under his watch, you have a great man looking out for you. Ravenia, I know you will always be happy with him. And as much as I know he'll deny it, his journey isn't over. This is his next one; and probably the greatest one he will ever have. So tonight I want to raise a glass to the man that was, the man that is, and the may he is yet to be. To my friend, Arkold, and to his beautiful wife, Ravenia, may you always be happy. Thank you for everything you shared with us." And there Alptraum raises his glass, then drops down to one knee, kneeling before both the brides and grooms table.

"I knew it all along," Ravenia says. "His heart is bigger than his stomach or his… ego."

"Hear hear!" echoes the hall, as glasses are raised in toast to Arkold.

Ravenia blushes when Alptraum goes to his knee, and reaches over to take Arkold's hand while raising her glass in the other. "Thank you, Alptraum," she whispers.

"Cheers to two people who couldn't be better suited to each other if they tried! May you have happiness all your remaining days!" Tulani adds in with a smile, also raising her glass in toast with the others.

More toasts are added from the crowd, until it seems Arkold might be buried under the mass of the words.

Arkold seems to suddenly have to clear his throat, coughing into his fist. The slight tinge of red in his ears suggests more; for all his ability to laugh off jokes at his expense, it seems the sentimental is harder for him to roll with. He leans back, shakes his head, then reaches up and rubs at an eye. "That wasn't necessary," he mutters, half-heartedly.

As Alptraum rises, he says, "It was entirely necessary. You changed lives, even if you didn't know it. I might have all the time in the world to make fun of you. But the one thing I wanted to make sure was said was how much you meant to me and to others."

At the other table, Rosalind smiles proudly at Alptraum.

"You're goin' to choke an old man up," Arkold insists, though he's well past the point of being choked up. "They say a man is measured by the friends he keeps. If tha's so, then I'm a rich man, indeed."

"Its true too Arkold, You've made the time we've traveled together all the more interesting and meaningful, and I'm very proud to be your friend… And don't you dare ever forget it." Tulani notes, smiling at the older wolf.

"Ahh, I'd better drink more. My cheeks are goin' to turn red either way as it is," says the Jupani.

Alptraum takes a drink from his glass. He leans against the table, speaking quietly to Arkold, "I wanted to tell a joke at first; get a laugh. But … I couldn't tonight. You deserved the moment of honesty. Thank you for all you have done. Though I may travel far, I will never forget you."

Glancing at Alptraum, Arkold says, "I shouldn't think so, I am unforgettable, after all." He laughs, somewhat awkwardly, before sobering a moment. "Jus' remember Alptraum," then he's looking at Tulani, "an' you too, Tulani. You're always welcome here, an' if you need any 'elp, jus' let me know. Send an' ol' man some letters, if you would, and take notes on your travels. I'll wan' to hear how you're all doin'."

"I don't intend to go too far if I can help it. Sure a trip now and then, but I have a reason to stay in Draco County now," Alptraum tells Arkold and rolls his head in the direction of the Countess.

The Countess (who nobody recognizes as such who doesn't already know) blushes a bit at Alptraum's look.

"I'll definitely write to you Arkold, and I hope you'll get word to me when you can, of how things go for yourself… Though I'm sure things will be wonderful for you." Tulani replies to Arkold with a nod and a very happy smile.

"And if you'll excuse me, I've been neglecting her," Alptraum adds, then winks to Arkold. He slips away from the groom's table and heads toward Rosalind.

The music starts up again, and this time it's more something to be danced to. Ravenia gives up her seat to Alptraum, and bows to her groom (and given the nature of her gown, probably gives everyone at his table a bit of a show). "Care to escort me out and get this shindig hopping, my love?" she asks.

"Shindig? I fear these people are rubbin' off on you, Raven. I'll 'ave to corrupt you proper later." Arkold extends his hand to Ravenia, escorting her to the dance floor.

Alptraum slides into the seat and smiles to the women present. "Ladies," he says to them, "You all look absolutely lovely tonight. I apologize for the lack of a funny story, but … it didn't seem appropriate."

Tulani smiles at the male Eee, nodding, "I think that was perfect Alptraum. A beautiful speech for the occasion."

"Ah, the beginnin' of another dance between us, eh Raven? Look around; this is your castle now. An' me, I'm your humble knight. But in case you think I'm a square-footed adventurer, let me show you what the best dancer teacher in Rephidim taught me an age ago … " And with that, the wolf and the human glasp hands, squaring off as the dance begins.

Ravenia rests her head against Arkold's chest, and says, "But this is the first one where I think you've really swept me off my feet."

Alptraum slinks and ducks in the crowd. He slides up behind Tulani and whispers an ominous mhahahaha into her left ear. "If you don't dance with me, I'll reveal to all that you're secretly a sailor in disguise as a proper lady," he playfully threatens. "Or maybe it's just tradition that the best man and maid of honor dance second… "

The Sphynx calmly flicks her ear, bumping it against the Eee's nose, "And I'll tell everyone your really a rogue disguised as a gentleman! But enough of these pleasantries… " Tulani says with a grin as she turns around, "I'd definitely like to have this dance with you Alptraum, tradition or no."

The quartet continues to play the traditional 'first dance' waltz, as Arkold and Ravenia monopolize the dance floor.

Alptraum slips his arm around hers. "Well, now that it's decided … I lead," he quips, grinning. He carefully guides her through those gathered with a few apologies to get those mesmerized by Arkold and Ravenia. Either the dancers are dancing really well … or they're surprised the old wolf hasn't passed out yet!

Tulani smoothly follows Alptraum's lead out to the dance floor with a grin replying "I'll follow you. Just don't make me look too bad, I have a feeling you're quite the dancer."

"Depends on what kind of dance, if you know what I mean… " Alptraum remarks and waggles his brow. Without even asking, he twirls Tulani around once, then slips his right arm around her waist and draws her in close. Looking smugly amused, he takes Tulani's right hand in his left. "Rowr," he tells her.

The Sphynx wings flutter slightly at the twirl and she even giggles slightly, "Easy there tiger, don't get too carried away!" Tulani says while obviously still smiling her free hand going up to rest on Alptraum's shoulder.

"Don't get dizzy from the spinning!" Kaira calls, and snags away a glass of wine from Phlagaea before the priestess can drink any. "Just water for you tonight."

"Tiger? Tiger? Why, I'm hurt! I'm not even close to feline," Alptraum huffs, "I'm better. But … maybe you're mad I'm not wearing the stuff you helped buy." He winks, then finally begins dancing in time to the music.

"Wait until you see what they got me," Ravenia whispers into Arkold's ear.

"Flirt!" Tulani exclaims cheerfully at Alptraum as she follows his lead across the dance floor to the music. The Sphynx might not know this dance that well, but shes certainly graceful enough to make up for it.

"Guilty as charged … and you love it," Alptraum deadpans. The bat continues along in the dance, grinning slightly as he goes … looking relaxed for once.

Surprisingly, Arkold does dance well. All the times he said he was really a noble a long time ago must be true, as must the rumors that he was practicing in between wedding preparations. The time on the road has just made him more fit; he easily cuts the dance floor with Ravenia in hand, moving with power and grace. "Oh, I'm not sure I can wait," he mock-warns Ravenia.

"We shouldn't use it tonight though, not with Mave there," Ravenia notes. "She might get the wrong idea!"

"You just know me too well Alptraum." The Sphynx monotones back to the Eee and then, without warning kisses Alptraum full on the lips, though the motion is not prolonged, so as to not interrupt the dance and parts lips smiling.

There's a cheer from the Yodhblakat in the crowd at the kiss.

"Mave is full of ideas enough as it is, tha's true," Arkold agrees. He glances to the side at the cheers from the Yodh, and laughs. "It looks like the kids are up to their own love, eh?"

Alptraum blinks a few times, then just grins. "Careful. You know not what you tease! Well, okay, maybe you do, but … I'm really dangerous," the Eeee claims as he twirls Tulani again. "And by the way, thanks for the clothes. They're fun."

Ravenia laughs, and winks over at Tulani on the next swing pass. "Ah, they're just being young! I'm sure you were like that too. In fact… I guess you're still like that!"

"You're dangerous? Remember, I'm a dragon! I'll just eat you if you start to get too dangerous for me… after all… you are rather tasty." The Sphynx claims, licking her lips. Tulani chuckles brightly as she is spun around, hair fluttering just barely managing to speak between laughter and motion, "I'm glad you like them, I was worried you'd find it all too uncomfortable. I really like what you picked out for me as well!"

"I'm young at heart, an' at other things," the Jupani assures his wife. "I jus' 'ope if they have kids, they don't call me gramps."

As Alptraum and Tulani swing past Ravenia and Arkold, Ravenia gets a very quick pinch on her backside. "I heard that!" Alptraum tells her as they spin apart. His attention quickly returns to Tulani and he remarks, "Uncomfortable? Nah. Embarrassing? A lot." He grins.

"You mean Alptraum doesn't call you that already?" Ravenia teases, before kissing Arkold.

To Alptraum, Ravenia comments, "Now now, you'll get your chance when we switch partners!"

"Good!" is Tulani's quick reply to Alptraum before she kisses the Eee again… She really seems to be in a flirty mood herself. "Maybe you could try wearing that outfit for… Rosalind" The Sphynx suggests with a playful grin.

Back at the bride's table, the Countess' ears perk up.

"Oh, I rather intend to," Alptraum replies, then dips his head in and nips Tulani's neck instead of just kissing her back. "And just you wait when you find someone. If I'm around, he'll hear every sordid detail about you."

"Or her. Never can quite tell with a sailor," Alptraum remarks.

Tulani just chuckles and shakes her head at her dance partner, "Oh just you hush up and dance you Rogue!" She says as she hugs in closer to the Eee.

"Okay, okay, I'll behave to the end of this song," Alptraum agrees with a long-suffering sigh.

The quartet winds down, and then switches into the next dance piece, which is a bit more Sylvanian and quicker than a waltz.

Alptraum swings Tulani back over towards the newlyweds. "Excuse me, old man, but I think Ravenia should dance with the best man at the party," the Eeee quips to his friend. "I'll loan you this slightly used sphynx in the meantime… "

"Please tell me you dance better than this flirtatious rogue here?" Tulani asks Arkold with a grin as she gestures to Alptraum.

Ravenia does her best not to burst out laughing.

"Keep that up, an' I'm likely to belt you, as any father-figure should," Arkold tells Alptraum with a laugh. He nods to Ravenia that he doesn't mind, passing her hand to the bat. Then, he turns to Tulani and asks, "Well, how about it? Oh, an' I do. Dancing isn' one of the skills I had a chance to use on the road, but I was quite a fop when I was younger. Tha' uncultured Rughrat deflator hasn' anythin' on me." He laughs again.

"You're a fop when you're older too," Alptraum points out. Releasing Tulani, he now bows deeply to Ravenia. "I would be honored if such a beautiful lady of the twilight would grace the dance floor with me," he says rather seriously, then offers his hand to her.

"Best man, hmmm?" Ravenia asks, taking Alptraum's hand.

"Well then, show me your stuff Arkold, and we'll see if I can keep up?" The Sphynx suggests, holding out a hand to the older wolf and smiling, "By the way, how are you enjoying your wedding so far?"

"Pity you're married or you could find out," Alptraum teases and flicks his ears. He starts leading her out onto the dance floor. "You know, I would have never pictures you as the Jupani loving type, but … you couldn't have picked a better one," he tells her as they go.

Arkold's style of dancing is what one might call Rephidim formal, but he keeps it simple, since Tulani isn't likely to know the complex steps nobles learn to impress other nobles within the sky island's high society circles. "I should teach you to dance some day, Tulani. Proper dancin' is importan' to young ladies if they're looking to high scoiety, or if they're thrust into it – like you and Bats," he says. Strong and graceful, Arkold feels like he could lift Tulani with one hand, and yet for all his strength, his grasp is light and he never steps on her toes. "As far as my weddin', it's more fun than I expected. If I had to look at another swatch, I migh' 'ave tried takin' a rowboat to sea."

Tulani is certainly wowed by Arkold's skill and it shows. Its one thing to watch the older wolf maneuver the dance floor, and another things entirely to partner with him in a dance. "I'm glad your having fun, I can't tell you how happy I am for you and Raven." Tulani says with a smile, planting a friendly kiss on Arkold's cheek.

"He's the only one I remember meeting," Ravenia notes with a grin. "And he brought me cigars."

The wolf pats Tulani's back fondly. "Remember, you'll always 'ave a place here if you need it. Jus' don' go in the west wing's tower." He glances back at the castle, and at the alarmingly decay west tower. "Tha's goin' to take a lot o' work."

"I claim West Wing Tower!" Roogi shouts. Eeee sure have good hearing.

"I could make so many comments about that … but it wouldn't be appropriate," Alptraum notes, grinning. "And I hope you two can control those Eeee. They're a handful," he adds with a laugh.

"I'll remember that Arkold, and I won't ever forget what a good friend you are. Your like family to me. Speaking of family, I'd still like you and Alptraum to meet my parents sometime, so they can see the motley crew I've been traveling with, "Tulani says to Arkold with a wide grin.

"Barba controls them," Ravenia says, doing a pirouette. "She's my favorite."

"Jus' invite them to the castle, why don' ya? Impress them that you know nobility. 'Ell, don't they live 'ere somewhere? You can see if they wan' to move 'ere, so you don't 'ave to worry they're safe," Arkold suggests.

"I like Barba too," Alptraum agrees as he then takes a moment to dip Ravenia gracefully. "So, now that you're married, going to give up adventure? Take up quilting, perhaps?" he teases.

"Oh, I'm sure Arkold and the Yodh will get bored after a bit and take up piracy, so that should be exciting," Ravenia says with a grin. "And crashing formal parties and such. Rescuing kidnapped daughters… "

"I'll see if they want to come out here to met you then. To be honest I don't think they would want to move from where they are since they have their own business there." Tulani mentions to Arkold before getting a curious look, "Your so good at this, just how many types of dances do you know?"

"And kidnapping rescued daughters?" Alptraum has to ask, grinning. "Speaking of daughters … are you and Arkold planning to start a family? I assume you'd have to adopt, of course."

"Well… hadn't really discussed that," Ravenia admits. "Do you know of any orphans? Or are you looking for someone to babysit your brood, if I'm right about Phlagaea?"

"Well lets see, there's several varieties of general formal dances, as well as the 'high formal' dances for more important get-togethers. It also depends on if you're courtin' or not, your peerage – that's your nobility – compared to who you're with, the season an' the occasion … Let's jus' say a lot," the Jupani answers. He then gestures at his feet between steps, and adds, "This is jus' something I whittled down from somethin' more complicated. The thing is, noble dancin' is beautiful if everyone knows the steps, bu' o'course only nobles do, an' each noble circle favors their own, an' well … It's elitist, no' as much fun as some o' the small country dances we've been to. It may no' be as graceful, bu' it's more open."

"No, I'm not looking for a babysitter, I'm just curious. Of course, you are welcome to babysit. I'll warn you Eeee can be a bit … troublesome!" Alptraum remarks. "I think you'll mostly be busy getting this place restored and the town in better shape. Though, you seem to like to take things rough around the corners and whip them into shape … and you even have that riding crop to get Arkold in shape with… " He grins.

"Well, I think I might take up painting too," Ravenia says. "And ghost-write Arkold's book of course."

"If you're ever curious about pursuing your past, I can help you start with two words. Though, honestly, I think your future is far more interesting than your past," Alptraum notes as he dips Ravenia again.

"Woo!" Ravenia goes at the dip, and pops out of her dress for a moment, causing another cheer from the crowd.

"Ah, well, I don't think I'm missing out on too much, I'm having plenty of fun right now!." Tulani points out to Arkold after his explanation of his dance skills. The Sphynx works on following his steps and certainly does seem to be having a lot of fun, if her smile is any indication.

"Oops, it escaped!" Alptraum remarks and tries not to laugh as he brings Ravenia back up. The dancing pauses for a few seconds as Alptraum puts Ravenia back in her dress and even pats her chest gently. "There, all back where it belongs!" he announces to the crowd.

"Ahem!" Ravenia clears her throat. "I could have done that myself you know," she chides lightly, while still smiling. It's hard to tell when the dark-skinned woman is blushing.

"But, but, this is your wedding! We're supposed to cater to you," Alptraum claims and grins fangily. "I mean, we're all doing our best to keep abreast of the situation… "

"I'm glad. I can' 'elp bu' think this is really for you all and these people. Me, I don't need a big party anymore," says the old wolf to Tulani. "I'm lookin' forward to days of wakin' up not in the mud, hungry, in a war, in prison or otherwise in somethin' I'd rather not be."

Ravenia just groans at Alptraum's pun. "Arkold doesn't make bad puns," she notes.

"Mud can be fun with the right person," Alptraum calls over to Arkold. Curse those Eeee ears.

Tulani smiles and Hugs Arkold slightly.  "Well, I'm glad your finally getting the chance for that. You really deserve some peace… and I'm sure Ravenia will keep you quite occupied. She's like an adventure herself isn't she." the Sphynx tells the older wolf with a wink

"Yes, he does, just not around you," Alptraum tells Ravenia, then resumes dancing with her. "Now, I'll be serious for the moment and say I do wish you both the best, Ravenia. I'm glad you both found happiness."

The band switches to one of the more hand-clapping, foot-stomping festival pieces now, as other couples are able to take the floor. There are a lot of the soldiers from the battle at the Twisted Keep, although Grey wasn't able to attend due to a leg injury suffered while plowing a field in Gormless. The women outnumber the men in the party, but that doesn't seem to matter to the Yodhblakat, who dance with one another. A white furred hand taps on Arkold's arm, and Mave asks, "May I cut in?"

Alptraum leans in and kisses Ravenia's cheek lightly. "Well, I must see to the other guests. I'm certain I'll see you again. Just promise me you'll keep the wolf in line," he says as he starts to draw away from Ravenia.

Lilith steps up, and grabs Ravenia's hand as the two women start to dance, while Phlagaea steps into fill the gap with Alptraum.

"I'm surprised you didn't ask to join us, Mave," the wolf tells the priestess. He steps back, bows to Tulani, then offers his hand to Mave. "It's a good thing I'm a vital ol' wolf."

"Oh, I'll join you later," the Yodhinala tells Arkold, and then takes Tulani's hand, telling the Sphynx, "I will lead."

"Looks like it's you and me, old man," Kaira whispers to Arkold from behind.

"Well, hello my emerald friend," Alptraum tells Phlagaea as he takes up the more festive dance, though a bit slowly so he can show Phlagaea how to do it. "I hope you're having fun?" he asks her with a smile.

Tulani looks VERY surprised, and it takes her a moment to recover herself before nodding to the white Eee, "Alright, to be honest, I wasn't expecting that you'd want to dance with me Mave."

"It's been an experience!" Phlagaea says, and picks up the dance surprisingly fast. "Ravenia noticed that I've been having to dye my fur right away."

"Why wouldn't I?" Mave asks Tulani. "You are young and lovely, and I am mature and beautiful. It should be no different than dancing with Arkold."

"Trying to keep it green?" Alptraum asks as he circles Phlagaea, wings and hands lightly brushing against her as he goes. "Granted, you are beautiful green… "

The Yodhgorphat blushes, and nods. "Well… at least for the wedding. When we get back, I'll dye the rest of my fur to match my roots," she explains.

Alptraum's chitinous hand lightly slides over Phlagaea's stomach. "Are you feeling all right?" he asks her as they dance. "Still happy with the … outcome?"

The Sphynx blinks momentarily at Mave's explanation before grudgingly agreeing with the white Eee, "I suppose your right Mave… As I said, I was just… surprised." Tulani looks a little unsettled in fact, but after a few minutes of following the Eee's lead she relaxes back to normal.

"I haven't started throwing up in the mornings," Phlagaea notes with a grin. "And of course! It's a dream come true!"

"Do you want to throw up in the mornings?" Alptraum has to ask. "It's not an enjoyable experience!"

Mave dips Tulani, and tells her, "I will be with the newlyweds tonight, but if you get lonely I can check on you later."

"It's a rite of passage," Phlagaea notes. "And I've never done it before, so it will be novel."

Meanwhile, Kaira tries to lead Arkold, of course.

"You are a strange, strange, Eeee," Alptraum teases Phlagaea … then lightly blows in her left ear. "I suppose that is why we became friends. Both of us enjoy experiencing new things."

"Well, I was curious about you too, back then," Phlagaea notes.

"That's alright Mave, I think I'll be fine." Tulani solidly declares at the suggestion from the older Eee woman, looking a bit embarrassed.

"Are you sure?" Mave asks, and looks around. "There are not many men, but if there is one you would like I can arrange things for you, at least."

"The mysterious male at the Sunala temple, yes," Alptraum remarks with a nod. "The lonely male, too. Having you as a friend got me through my time in Babel. I don't think I can ever quite repay you enough. Well, other than being there for you when you need me."

Taking Kaira's hand, Arkold bows, then escorts her to an open space to dance. "The last time I danced with a dragon," he says, "it was metaphorical. O'course, you know how that went. Let's make this one as memorable, in a better way."

"Oh, you bet you'll be there!" Phlagaea notes. "I can still curse you, after all, after I've had the baby."

"So, does this mean that you and Remy didn't party down in the old days?" Kaira asks the wolf, letting him lead after all.

"If I need assistance in that regard Mave, I'll be sure to let you know. At the moment I don't have any specific interests." Tulani says to her dance partner, trying to keep her voice level.

"You don't have to threaten me. I wouldn't leave you to fend for yourself," Alptraum comments a bit seriously. "Though … maybe a small curse could prove … novel, sometime." he says with a joking grin.

"You should enjoy yourself more," Mave says, and gives Tulani a peck on the cheek. "Get up before dawn, and fly to the top of the castle. The sunrise here is something you do not want to miss," she says.

Alptraum and Phlagaea passes by Tulani and Mave … and he can't help but comment to Tulani, "You should take her up on that offer. It would be very memorable… " He grins and winks.

"Well, I shall have to work one out with the Countess when the time is right," Phlagaea notes.

"He was more like a boss, an' a bad one at that. He's where tha' sort o' business gets ya,an' good riddens," Arkold replies. He squares off with Kaira, then tries a dance that's more elaborate than the previous. "I've 'ear you've watched nobles for some time, how's your dancin' skills?"

Alptraum laughs and shakes his head. "And remember, I'll still be your acolyte when you need me to be," he reminds the green Eeee. "You'll always be special to me, no matter what happens, Phlagaea."

"Now that I can promise to do!" Tulani claims a bit more enthusiastically to Mave, happy to have a slightly tamer subject on hand, "And I might come visit you sometime for advice. You are exceptionally experienced after all." The Sphynx compliments her older dance partner.

"Well, I'm used to aerial dances," the dragon admits. "Never danced on two feet before now, really, but seen plenty of fairy soirees in my time. Some of the dances involve swords though."

"You have brothers, do you not?" Mave asks. "If you like, I can prepare some love potions for you to bring them."

"I do have a brother… I'm not sure how he would take it if I brought him something like that though… He might be offended." Tulani notes to Mave, looking thoughtful.

"Well, it is important for sisters to look out for their brothers," Mave notes. "Men can hardly be expected to take care of themselves."

Arkold eases his dance, then. "Very well, I won' tax you. Besides, slower makes it easier for me to pinch your tail. I 'eard you back there," he says.

"I heard that!" Alptraum calls over to Mave, "And it's not true!" To Phlagaea he notes, "She can be so … know it all sometimes."

Mave's next comment does get a chuckle and a smile out of the Sphynx, "I see what you mean there. How about this, I'll ask my brother about it, and get back to you on that?"

"You mean you do not need me to take care of you?" Phlagaea asks Alptraum.

"Hah!" Kaira laughs, and swishes her tail. "I've got a long neck too, and other cute bits. And of course my mind."

"Uh," Alptraum says … not quite sure how to answer that without getting in trouble. "So … are you on leave while you're pregnant. Or are you still acting as the Draco military medical adviser?" he asks, trying to change the subject.

"I'm avoiding contact with sick people for now," Phlagaea notes.

"Wise," Alptraum has to agree. "I hope you don't get too bored."

"Oh, I think I'll be getting to know Rosalind better," Phlagaea notes.

"Really? Why is that?" Alptraum has to ask as he picks up the green Eeee and spins her around.

"Well, if things go well, we'll might be delivering on the same day," Phlagaea teases.

Alptraum's ears splay. "Eeeeeek," he manages to say. "I'm sure there will be some horrible monster I'll have to slay that day… "

Speaking of horrible monsters, a strong hand drops on Alptraum's shoulder, and a slurred voice says, "I take you to dance!" It's Roogi, of course.

Arkold laughs, too. "I thought you didn' like me," he tells Kaira. "Then again, I though' I didn' like you either. Bad dragon experiences. All water under the bridge, eh?"

"Ack, I'm being summoned!" Alptraum says weakly to Phlagaea. He leans in and kisses her cheek, then tells her, "I'll see you later." After making sure Phlagaea finds herself a new partner, Alptraum turns to Roogi and takes her in his arms! Without even asking, he kisses her on the lips, then tells the crazy Eeee, "I would be honored to dance with my … owner."

"You mean like the River Pantsu bridge?" Kaira teases. "And maybe I'm only interested now because I can't have you? Dragons are covetous."

"Yah!" Roogi says, drunkenly. She doesn't seem to be in a state to dance.

Alptraum guides Roogi off to the side of the dance floor, where if she spews … it won't hit any of the guests. There he 'dances' with her … which primarily consists of him propping her upright and keeping her mouth aimed in a safe direction. Alptraum lets out a bemused sigh as he thinks, "I really don't know why I like her, it's crazy."

"Then you will want me like nothin' you've wanted before," Arkold tells the dragoness, wit a wink. then, he dips her, but no kiss.

Kaira nearly panics at the dip, not used to such things, but at least doesn't loose her footing.

"Of course, you know where to find me," Mave tells Tulani. "Now, I think that Rhian soldier is about to cut in on me," she notes, nodding over Tulani's shoulder.

"Like everyone, Kaira, you're always welcome 'ere, an' in no danger of me," Arkold assures the dragoness as he lifts her bac up. Once up, he adds, "Except in the west wing. can' 'elp you if you drop from there and decide to take a dip in the ocean."

"Alright, well, thank you for the dance Mave." Tulani replys as she and the white Eee part ways. The Sphynx however looks like shes ready for a break from dancing.

A black hand pulls Roogi away, so that she falls onto her butt and then passes out. Rosalind takes her place with Alptraum, saying, "Mine. I think that's the proper term, yes?"

"Maybe a dip in the ocean would be nice," Kaira tells Arkold. "I can go skinny dipping with Raneah."

"You came to my rescue!" Alptraum says and clasps his hands together. Smiling, he now takes Rosalind's hands in his. "You may be the last dance, but you are not the least. You had to be last because had you been first, no other woman would have even been able to compare to you, or pulled me away," he tells her and leads her out to the floor for the final dance before the toss.

"Ranaeh is never not skinny dippin', so you can't find 'er whenever you like. Now tha' the dance is done, me, I'm goin' to shake 'ands and meet people. I 'ave a lot of lordin' to do, an' one never stops lordin' – 'especially in Sylvania. Much to do, eh? Ah, retirement." Arkold kisses Kiara's hand, bows to her, then heads off. But, not before pinching her tail as he passes!

As the dancing breaks for the time being, there is plenty of mingling (and vying for the attention of the few unclaimed men that are left). Soon the announcement is made for the throwing of the bridal bouquet, and nearly all of the young women cluster at one end of the all, including Lilith, Tulani, Raneah and the mass of the Yodhblakat – who probably have no idea what's going on but don't want to be left out of anything.

Ravenia turns her back, winds up her arm, and then tosses the bouquet of red and black roses over her shoulder. It arcs up, and lands right in the outstretched hand of Tulani, while a dozen Yodhblakat get bowled over by Raneah's attempt to catch it.

Tulani grins widely and holds the bouquet aloft momentarily, exclaiming "I got it!" and then sniffs one of the beautiful red roses.

"That means you're the next to marry, you know!" Alptraum calls out to her.

There's a collective growl from the Yodhblakat, but Barba yells at them until they settle down.

The cake cutting ended in the usual mess, and luckily there was the groom's cake to mollify the Yodhblakat, who took to the concept of food fighting really well. More dancing followed, including folk dancing, and things were still going when the wedding party put down their glasses and called it a night…
