Morgan's Room
Located somewhere along the twisted trunk of the Gnarly Tree, Morgan's room is a lot like Morgan himself: mostly feminine with a touch of masculinity. The male witch's favorite color predominates the room, dressing it in a rich array of purples. Lacy curtains hang from the window and the canopy bed, while purple roses decorate the array of dressers, chests, and mirrors set along the wall of the mostly oval room. Only a wooden Creen cage, placed near the window, remains free of purple. Only a wooden Creen cage, placed near the window, remains free of purple.
With the ritual now over, Miranda, Morgan, and Liliana make their way back to Morgan's room. Natasha bids her farewells after thanking the elder witch for allowing her to attend the ritual. Liliana has been strangely quiet after the ritual, just following Morgan and Miranda as they walk. Once in his room, she goes and sits quietly on the bed. The bandage around her hand has a large blood stain on both sides now.
"Let me get you a clean bandage and some salve for that, Lily," Morgan says after leading Miranda inside. "Keep an eye on Miranda, too. We're still not sure how she'll handle this." Patting Miranda's shoulder, Morgan steps back in to the hall.
"Eh, oh, yeah, sure," Liliana says and looks up. She lifts her bandaged hand and looks at it. "Righ', forgot me saliva voul' keep it bleedin' for a while," she muses. "Leas' it also helps numb de pain some."
Once Morgan had left the room for bandages, Miranda moves over to take a seat by Liliana on the bed, watching the Eee carefully.
Liliana grins slightly and offers her hand to Miranda. "Van some?" she asks, grinning slightly. She still has her sense of humor, apparently.
Miranda chuckles at the question, waving off the Eeee's hand with a smile and replying with a larger grin of her own, "No thankth… I don't think I want to be theeing red anymore than I already am for the moment… Might wanna nip your earthh though."
Liliana grins and shakes her head. "Go ahea', she notes, "jus be careful of de earrin'." The Eeee then turns her head and looks at herself in the mirror. "Never knew I ha' blue eyes," she says. "Kin'a pretty."
Blinking slightly at not having what she had proposed turned down Miranda giggles and edges a bit closer, nosing the edge of the Eeee's ear saying, "What do you mean kinda pretty? I think they are pothitively beautiful."
"Well here we are," Morgan says as he returns from wherever in the maze of a house he went. "Fresh bandages, some coagulant, and some mending salve. I made the last two myself." He pauses when he steps inside the door, then AHEMs quite loudly. "Miranda."
"Vell, I guess. It really don look like me," the Eeee notes. Her head swings around and looks at Morgan. "She okay. I sai' she coul'," the bat says and reaches back to pat Miranda. "Better me den someone else, vou know."
Miranda looks like she had just been about to lick Liliana's ear when Morgan came into the room… Letting out a little Hurmph! as her name was warningly called, but grinning at being backed up by the Eee. "It-th true! Thee did thay it wath ok Morgan," the Lapi notes.
"But is it okay, Miranda? Is that what you really want?" The Kadie raises a brow, nodding to Liliana. "Or is it what that power tells you you want? I won't stop you, but think about that before you make your choices."
"Is jus' a part o' me," Liliana says quietly and looks back to the mirror. "Dat mean you t'ink something wrong wit me?"
Miranda heaves a dramatic sigh and flops backwards, her back arching over the bed, "You take the fun out of everything Morgan!… But I thuppothe that's a good thing thometimeth… " the Lapi finishes with a not entirely comfortable smile.
"That's a witch's job," Morgan insists. He walks over to Liliana and kneels down beside her, taking her hand and examining it. "The only thing wrong with you, Lily, is that you're a bit out of sorts right now. All this will wear off in a short while, and everything will be back to normal." He pats her hand, then begins unwinding the bandage. "It is, however, wrong with Miranda. She may regret what she does now, later."
"I think you're really nithe Lili, and I don't think anything ith wrong with you. Thith ith thtill a part of you, I'm just… borrowing it for a bit," Miranda says, scootching around until she has her head in the Eeee's lap. "And itth a wonderful part off you too! Morgan jutht doethen't think I can handle it," the Lapi says, turning to stick her tongue out at the Kadie before looking back up at the Eee. "And you know… he'th probably right… I'm not doing that good of a job now." She says it with a grin, however.
Liliana keeps looking in the mirror as the bandage is unwound; the wound underneath (which goes all the way through) is still oozing. "Only ve voul' know," the bat notes with a small shrug. "I guess I really am jus' a possessed monster after all," she says and reaches with her free hand to absently pet Miranda's head in her lap, "a corruptin' demon t'ing. No sure I van' to go back."
Morgan sighs under his breath, trying to hide his frustration by feigning difficulty with the bandage. Once the wound is exposed he applies the coagulant with his fingers from a small red clay pot. "You both simply need to relax," he says, reasonably. "Neither one of you are feeling 'yourself' today, and that's bound to make you both question your identity."
Reaching up to lightly poke Liliana's nose, Miranda asks seriously, "Tho Lili, I have a quethtion… did you like me before tha ritual? You didn't think I wath too boring did you?"
"Course I liked vou; vou let me dye vou," Liliana answers and looks down. "Beside, vhy vouldn' I like vou? Jus' because vou don go aroun bein' wil' all de time doesn' make vou unlikable. Vou vere very cut', cuz I coul' tell vou vanted to try some t'ings, like de dye, but vere jus' shy about it. Vou jus' needed a nudge. I like shy, if vou haven' noticed." She thumbs towards Morgan with her free and. The bat then winces and commends to Morgan, "Dat stuff hur'. It removin' de effect of me spit."
In a moment of apparent clarity and clearheadedness, feeling strong willed enough to speak her mind clearly, Miranda says, "Thee! And we like you to! But it ith that whole you that we love… You may call it corrupting, but I don't think it really ith that. More like your thpirited nature encourageth people to ecthpand their perthonal boundrieth. To thee more thingth in themthelveth. I didn't let you dye my fur becauthe you 'corrupted' me into it, but becauthe you encouraged me in your own way to try thometing I wath too shy at firtht to look into."
Morgan nods slowly. "It wouldn't due to have you pass out from blood loss along with having your spirit weakened." He then starts to mix in the healing salve; a yellowish sticky goo. Despite its appearance, it at least feels nice.
"Heh," the Eee says and pats Miranda's cheek lightly, "Gla' t'see dat side oh me isn' all jus' lust an playfulness. Guess it be strengh' too." She turns away from the mirror to consider Morgan. "So, vhich do vou prefer. Dis me, or de old me?" she asks him bluntly as he's applying the yellow goo. "An be honest."
The Kadie pauses while applying the salve, tilting his head and looking Liliana over. "There's only one 'you,' Lily. Right now, part of your essence is elsewhere. That just means you're under the weather. And, you have beautiful eyes either way," he answers. Then, he goes back to his healing work.
Miranda nods quickly to the Eee. "Yeth, strength and you have good control and strong will… you know how far to go, and when to thtop… Tha problem with me ith… I'm… Having… trouble… with when… to… thtop… " the Lapi murmurs, gently starting to nip the ridge of the Eee's ear with her good teeth between each word until she seemed to realize what she was doing, stopping suddenly and saying rather plaintively, "Do you have a bucket of cold water, Morgan? I think I'm going to need it."
"Very political answer dere, Mr. Squirrel," Liliana says with an amused smile. She continues that smile right up to the point the Lapi starts nibbling along her ear. That makes the Eee blinks a few times. She closes her currently blue eyes and rubs her thumb over the eyelids. "Do I really? Did Morgan tell vou how ve started seein' eah other?"
Morgan's brow shoots up, and he blinks several times as Miranda nibbles on his girlfriend. "Erm." He blinks again, then clears his throat. "Water. Yes, of course. Do you want to sit in a bucket of it?" He glances at Liliana when she mentions their meeting story, watching her curiously.
"I have not heard… " Miranda starts, but plunges onwards, "But obviouthly you didn't have to thtop with Morgan; he ith unharmed, and he loveth you! You did not try to forthe him into anything or really compel him patht hith own dethireth or will I don't think. He chose to follow you I believe, even if I do not know tha complete thtory." The Lapi turns to Morgan, saying, "I don't want to get water all over your room… if you jutht have a bucket I can dunk my head in maybe?"
"Vell, t'inking back on it, I feel like I did force 'im. He came to de camp to greet us an met me. It vas right den I decided I vanted dis one. So, I tol' him I expec' him to come back dat night wit a bottle of vine for a proper velcomin'," the bat admits. "I really didn' expect him to come back; more dat he run home an hide under 'is bed given his reaction at de time. Glad he did, tho. Had a good evenin' ve did. Kiss him, I did, like so," the bat says. She then gingerly cups her hand under Miranda's chin and nudges to get the Lapi to look at her. And without warning, the Eee kisses the Lapi fully on the lips. "Fel' differen' from everyone before 'im too. Realized he vasn' jus gon' be a fun time an' forget kinda guy," she says after the kiss.
Morgan bites his lip, glancing up in a 'heaven help me' way. "Well I definitely remember that." The inner part of the Kadie's ears redden at the display, and he tries to look anywhere else but at the kissing women. "I'm glad Lily chose to stay with me, though. It really has been a special time. Um. And you two should probably not … you know … " He makes a gesture that could mean anything.
"An he look abou' like dat, back den too," the Eee notes and points at the flustered and blushing Morgan.
Miranda's eyes actually seem to glow a bit brighter when Liliana kisses her… Or it could just be the Lapi's eyes widening… before batting her eyelids coquettishly at the Eee with a small grin… whispering, "Ahh… but he didn't run home… you didn't forthe him to come back either… " The Lapi murmurs slowly, obviously not really concentrating on what she was saying, but still in the world of that kiss, wrapping an arm around Liliana's waist and abruptly kissing the Eee back, though not with as much practiced grace as as the other woman had displayed.
Morgan breathes a sigh and leans back. "You two just get comfor- … er … just … I'll get the bucket." He snatches up his array of healing items, blinks at the women again, then quickly backs away. He almost runs into the wall when he spins around and races out the door.
Liliana blinks this time and after a few moments manages to push Miranda back. "An he prolly be righ, vou migh' regret it," the bat says and smiles to Morgan … who seems to be running for his life. She places a clawtip on the Lapi's lips and notes, "But, iffin after all dis, vell, maybe ve kin talk, no? Until den, ve shoul' redirect dem urges a bit, I t'ink. Maybe vou like to try on some of de dancer clothin' an earring?"
The gray Lapi doesn't quite register the Kadie witch's sudden flight from the room, giving the Eee a sleepy eyed look as she is pushed back. "Well… I'd really rather do that again… " Miranda protests mildly before reluctantly agreeing… "but I thupothe you're both right. Yeth, I think that would be… nice… " Miranda says with a grin as she catches herself leaning towards Liliana again and finally manages to pull herself back… "Dancer'th clotheth… An maybe you show me a few danthe thtepth, or thtretcheth."
A short time later Morgan returns with a wooden bucket sloshing with water. He skids to a halt just inside the doorway, eyeing the two women with could it be disappointment? "Oh," he breathes. "Well, here's the bucket, although I see you've worked it out for yourselves. Ah." He carries the bucket over, pushing his hair up out of his face.
Amelia's head pops through the doorway behind the witch, and snaps, "Morgan! This is no time to be… washing the floor… or whatever! Aren't you ready yet?"
Liliana glances to Morgan and in a burst of playfulness, leans forward and quickly and lightly kisses the Lapi again. "Vou kin do it more if vou really van' to after everyt'ing back to normal, all righ? I von' stop vou den," the Eeee tells Miranda and pets her cheek lightly, then stands up. "I need t' go back to de guest room an grab stuff. No' sure I shoul' ask, but, van' vour ears pierced or anyt'ing?" the Eeee asks. "An feel free t kiss me boyfrien' vhile I gone," she says, reaching over to tickle the Kadie's side. "Or Amelia, she gots nice lips, she does."
Miranda looks almost like she might purr at the final, light kiss before watching the Eee stand. "Ah… well, I would like to look at thome earringth … maybe… but again, I thould probably wait until thith ith done… " The Lapi then looks between Morgan and Amelia before rolling her head in a way that might indicate she were heavily rolling her eyes, as the she does not know about the Eee hand gesture for such… "Ecthcuthe me a moment… " she says and unceremoniously kneels by the bucket and shoves her head into the water.
Morgan glances back, then points at Liliana and Miranda by way of explanation. "They're kissing! Left and right! It's driving me crazy, I tell you," he complains, sounding very put upon. He suddenly giggles when tickled, slopping some water on the floor then has to drop the bucket when Miranda sticks her head in it.
"Spirit! I guess it's okay for all this snogging to be going on in your bedroom since you aren't actually involved, Morgan," Amelia says. "Now, do you have your stuff together yet?"
The gray Lapi's ears flop over the edge of the bucket and some of her fur stands on edge at the chill of the water, but Miranda doesn't pull her head out right away and, instead, seems to be holding her breath for the moment.
Liliana shakes her head and smiles to Amelia as she goes by. "It no my fault," she says and smiles, giving Amelia the chance to see the Eee's currently non-glowing blue eyes. "Don' tell anyone. I do expec' Miranda vill be really embarrassed later abou' it. She prolly no van' to talk to me anymore," she whispers to the Kadie, then heads down the hall to the spare room.
"Well I haven't had a chance to prepare for … combat." Combat and Morgan do not mix, and Amelia knows it well. He doesn't even like the word very much. "I've been seeing to everything else."
"Didn't Lili's eyes used to glow?" Amy asks Morgan. With Miranda's head in the bucket, she hasn't seen that the Lapi's eyes glow now instead. "Combat? What are you babbling about? You have to draw the blood from the vampire! Are you really that flustered from seeing your girlfriend kiss Miranda?"
Miranda still has her head in the bucket, counting to herself internally, 1… 2… 3… 4… 5… gotta calm down… 6… 7… gotta settle a bit… 8… 9 … while a little voice of excitement inside that is usually overrun by Miranda's shyness seems to be chanting, Aww… but you liked it! This is fun, what shall we try next?… 10. The Lapi finally pulls her head out of the bucket, eyes closed and coughing slightly.
"Lily's spirit transfered and … Long story short: Miranda's eyes glow, Lily's don't, it's just temporary. Don't let Miranda kiss you." Morgan reaches down and wrings out his skirt hem, frowning. "What I mean is dispels and such; spirit combat. I can draw the blood, but who knows what we're up against?"
"I don't know, that's why you're coming along," Amy says. "I have to go make a few more… preparations… then I'll meet you up at Dr. Pike's castle. You bring Miranda along, alright?"
Liliana returns and taps on Amelia's shoulder from behind. "Excuse me," she says, then squeezes by the Kadie into Morgan's room. She walks back over to Miranda and kneels beside her, petting the Lapi's neck lightly. "It be okay, jus breathe," she says.
Taking a deep breath and wiping water from her face, Miranda blinks and lets out a little murbling noise when her neck is touched, looking quite… happy… but certainly quite a bit toned down for the moment. "I'm alright, jutht held my breath a little too long."
Amy hmms at Miranda's glowing eyes. "Neat," she says.
"Alright. Maybe if I can get these two to settle down, I can meditate long enough to prepare," Morgan tells Amelia. "Pike's Castle, though, got it." He glances back at Miranda and Liliana, blinking when he sees Miranda looking half drowned. "I never know what that Lapi will do, now." He shakes his head.
"Right… oh, one last thing," Amelia says, then grabs Morgan and dips him back, giving him a big, slow kiss that lasts a good ten heartbeats before standing him back up again. "There, cosmic balance is restored!" she says, then scoots out and slams the door behind her.
Liliana continues petting Miranda's neck. "Jus breath an concentrate on dat," she keeps repeating to the Lapi quietly. "Remember, vou are de one in control, no vour feelin'. T'ink of it like de bunnies vou look after. Don' let it boss vou aroun'."
Morgan gapes, and when Amelia releases him he falls flat backwards. "Wha … " he stammers, looking bewildered.
Miranda's ears go straight up in the air when Amy dramatically kisses Morgan and the Lapi's voice immediately saying in a very interested, almost excited tone, "Can I try that next?" before looking at Liliana with a slight pout, "I guess I shouldn't… right?" And looking a little more determined, Miranda takes a deep breath and abruptly dunks her head again, though much more quickly this time, pulling right back out and letting the breath out slowly… taking a few minutes to just breath with her eyes closed.
"I didn' know I vas dis bad," Liliana admits and looks at the floor. She sighs and says, "Sorry."
"What the … " Morgan pushes himself up to sitting, then rubs his head sorely. "First Lily, now Miranda, and then Amelia?! Am I being tested?!" He lets out ragged sigh, then drops back against the floor covering his eyes. After a bit of silence, he mumbles through his hands, "Are you all alright?"
Gently wringing out her ears, Miranda mumbles, "I'm alright. I think I'm doing better, honest, Morgan… I didn't even jump you or Lili after Amelia kithhed you like that… " She then blinks and rubs her temples slightly, "Okay… no thinking about that just now."
"Is okay t' t'ink about it, just yeah, don' always do it," Liliana says quietly. She rubs the Lapi's back lightly, then says, "C'mon, gots some clothes for vou t' try on."
Morgan holds up his hands defensively. "That's good, because I'm running out of willpower here. Anyway, we need to prepare to get going. This may be dangerous, so, if you need anything or what-not now's the time," he says.
"Hmm… True… but it-th a little easier if I don't think about it too much till I've got a little better control of mythelf I think… " Miranda notes, smiling while the Eee rubs her back… "I need ta think for a minute Morgan… not sure what to bring, if anything… Let's see tha clotheth Lili? Will give me a little extra time to think."
"Stan' up," Liliana says and taps the Lapi's shoulder. The Eee herself gets up and dumps the contents of the bag onto the bed. It's a pile of glittery trinkets and gauzy fabric. "An oh, disrobe. I be dressin' vou."
"I'll just cover my eyes now," says the witch before he does just that.
"Feh, vou seen her naked before," Liliana chides Morgan and throws one of her undergarments at him. It lands right on his nose and hangs there.
Miranda immediately starts stripping out of her borrowed clothes as though Morgan weren't even in the room, folding the clothing off to the side.
Morgan sniffs a bit, then peeks at the underwear on his nose. He takes the garment and frowns at it. "That's true. I guess I'm a little on edge right now," he admits.
"'Kay, now just stand still an I dress yas," Liliana says. She selects a gauzy wide red sash and wraps it around the Lapi's waist, carefully tying it off at a corner. Around that she slides a chainlike belt made of various trinkets, glittery things, and other items with make a tinkle sound. "De chest vill be a bi' tricky, but I haf some ideas," she notes.
The Lapi stands perfectly still with her arms out to the sides while Liliana dresses her, smiling as she looks down at the belt of glittery things briefly, "This is nice tho far, tho letth hear thothe ideath!"
"Well I think it's cute," Morgan remarks as he idly spins Miranda's underwear on a finger.
Liliana fetches two red scarves from the bed, trimmed in some sort of silvery fabric. One she tosses over her shoulder. The other she tosses over Miranda's. She to tie it on the opposite side of her neck in a sling-like fashion. The Eee then draws the other one from her shoulder now and repeats the the cupping and trying action for the opposite side of the Lapi's chest. "Dere, works, I suppose," the Eee says critically.
"And you said you were different," says Morgan. "As far as I can tell, that's the same Lily fashion sense I know and love." He rolls over on his side and props his head up, watching curiously.
Miranda grins and shakes her hips for a moment to listen to the jingle before kissing Liliana on the tip of her nose, though obviously in more of a simply affectionate, happy manner than what had been going on earlier. The Lapi capers around Morgan's room for a moment to give full effect to the tinkling before asking the Kadie witch, "What do you think, Morgan?"
"Oh it's great, you're ready to dance with the gypsies," answers the Kadie.
Liliana grins and holds up a claw. "Ve no done," she notes and comes over with a pile of jewelry in her arms. The Eee then proceeds to slide an array of bangles on Miranda's arms. Around her neck goes several glittery chitin chains and baubles as well. Another strand goes around her waist, this time one made of small bells. And to finish it off, the Eee starts clipping on a series of shiny earrings along the Lapi's ears, each interconnected with silvery thread or small glittery chains.
Overall, the end effect, given the red glowing eyes, is as if Liliana was somehow transformed into a rabbit.
Giggling as she jingles even more now, Miranda gives another little shake of her hips, listening with perked ears to all the different tones the various bits of jewelry now attached to her create.
"So that's what Lily would look like as a Lapi." Morgan rubs his chin, as if weighing his possibilities. "Huh! Now, I just need to transform Lily into a Kadie, and my problems are all solved!"
"Gots somet'ing against a bat?" Liliana asks and gives Morgan a look. It's not nearly as affective without the red eyes, though.
Miranda chuckles and does her own little improvised dance around the other two in the room; it's nothing so practiced as a gypsy dance of course. "I think you'd be beautiful no matter what thpethieth you were Lili," the Lapi comments while shaking her butt a bit.
"Hmm, den maybe vou shoul' be my girlfrien' since vou appreciate me," Liliana notes and snorts a bit at Morgan. "He van to change me."
Morgan sticks his tongue out, then grins. "Of course not, can't I tease? You've been teasing me all night," he answers.
"Too lat', I like her now," Liliana counters and goes over to wrap her arms and wings around the Lapi. She sticks her tongue out back at Morgan … and then winks at him.
Morgan sighs melodramatically. "My love is lost, woe is me! I'll have to turn bad, and stick children in ovens," he laments with mock-moroseness. He even puts the back of his hand to his head and sprawls backwards. The effect is ruined a bit by Miranda's underwear hanging off his hand, however.
The Lapi sticks her tongue out at Morgan too before giggling and saying to the Eee, "Aww, but I like Morgan too Lili, you can like us both thurely? You'll have more fun that way!" Miranda smiles and kisses Liliana on the nose and looks closely at the Eee's eyes before blinking again and gently disentangling herself from the other's wings and arms."I think I need to calm down a bit again before I have to thtick my head back in tha bucket o' water."
"An wear an evil undie crown," Liliana says before breaking into a fit of giggles at Morgan's antics. She lets Miranda go. "I shoul' probably go an let vou two plan. Together, wit' de door closed," she says and sighs, gathering up the garments she didn't use in decorating the Lapi. "Mebbe I go talk wit' vou Mom. I don' t'ink she like me much," the Eee admits.
"Hmm, maybe." Morgan sobers some, nodding. "You may benefit from speaking to her one-on-one, without the rest of us around to distract you and her."
"Beside, she need t' give me a pregnancy test," the Eee reminds Morgan.
The Kadie nods slowly. "A lot to think about," he agrees.
"An if it negative, ve keep tryin'," Liliana then adds and waves her hand a bit dismissively before putting her bag over her shoulder.
Miranda sits on the bed with a small sigh and takes off some of the more tinkly bits of jewelry, giving them to the Eee before she goes, saying, quite sensibly, "Here, thome ith nithe, but I don't want to be a dinner bell when we go to look for tha vampire… Though I thuppothe I could always change back before if I have to."
"Oh, I vasn' expectin' vou to wear dat on de hunt. Dat was jus' to take vou min' off t'ings," the Eee tells Miranda. "Vou kin return it after everyt'ing vear off. I von really need it till den anyvay and I back to normal. Vell, back to my demonic self, I guess."
Morgan's tail perks up. "Keep trying? Are you sure?" He glances at Miranda, out of confusion, then looks a bit confused himself. "Hm."
Miranda blinks and puts the jewelry back on, "I geuthh you're right Lili, so I'll just enjoy wearing it for now!" The Lapi just grins at Morgan's confused look.
Liliana glances at Morgan from the doorway, blue eyes twinkling. "I t'ink dere be worse fates den bearin' vou chil'," the Eee notes. She doesn't say anything further; she just waves and slips out the door to let Morgan think on that.
"MUCH to think about," Morgan says quietly, rubbing his chin. He then glances at the underwear on his hand, as if just noticing it was there.
Idly kicking her legs from the edge of the bed, Miranda glances at the Kadie… "So Morgan… I had an idea. And can you give those back? I'll fold them… " the Lapi says, gesturing to the underwear on his hand.
Morgan tosses the Lapi her underwear. "I was going to keep them as a memento," he teases. Then he perks his ears. "What idea is that?"
Miranda catches the underwear and then goes quiet for a minute. Apparently, of the parts effected by the more 'outgoing' nature of the borrowed spirit in her, this wasn't one of them… When she speaks it is quietly, and without the zeal she had been presenting earlier, "Well… We know the vampire is attracted in some way to music, right? I think so at least. Since when I went down with Clover it was to record music I could hear. Do you think it would be a good lure if maybe we brought a musical instrument of some type along?"
Morgan sits up, crossing his legs under hits skirts. "That sounds about as good an idea as any I've heard lately," he says after a moment. Nodding, he glances at the doorway and asks, "Do you need your instrument? Did you bring it with you? Getting it now might be a little difficult if you didn't, though."
Miranda shakes her head slowly. "No, I dun have it with me… But if someone could ask Parthley, she could go to my room and get it," she says.
"That will work. I can ask Lily, my mother, or someone else. I'd prefer to not leave you alone, and I need time to meditate before we depart anyway," the Kadie says.
Nodding, the gray Lapi agrees firmly. "Yeth that would work. I don't really think I thould be left alone either at this point. And hey! Lili showed me how to drethh like a gypthy. Maybe you could thow me how to meditate… The conthentration might help me thtay calm." Miranda then grins. "Or I could jutht practith thmootching you inthtead? But I think meditation ith probably a better plan for now."
Morgan holds up a hand. "Yes, no thmo- … smootching me. I've been smootched quite enough today, and if it happens any more I'll never get anything done. As for meditating, that I need to do on my own. I can have my mother sit with you while I prepare myself." He reaches up and wiggles her fingers. "Magic, you know. It's a secret."
Miranda lets out a little, disappointed sounding aww before leaning back. "Well, that'th okay then… Thank you. I thuppothe I'll jutht do my betht… sitting with your mom would help I think, yeth."
"Yes, I don't think you'll want to kiss her." Morgan gives Miranda a weighing look, then. "Most likely. Maybe. I don't want to know."
The Lapi flicks an ear at Morgan and suddenly bursts out into peals of bright laughter, flopping back on the bed and causing all the jewelry shes currently wearing to go clinkjingle.
Morgan just shakes his head. "I'd better get started, then. You're welcome to use my bed, or look through my clothes," he says as he stands up. "I hope you're at least enjoying yourself?"
Miranda tilts her head upwards to give Morgan a genuine, friendly smile and a nod, "Yeth Morgan. To be perfectly honetht, I have been enjoying mythelf, you are a very good hotht."
The Kadie smiles at that. "Well, I'm glad. We should do this again some time, when you two are feeling better. Right now, I'm finding you both a little … distracting … and that's not very trustworthy of me, is it? No, it's not. So another time, when we're all feeling steady."
Rolling her head in an exaggerated motion of rolling her eyes, Miranda smiles at Morgan thoughtfully. "Yeth, maybe we thould. In thome wayth thith hath been tha motht fun I've had inna while. Maybe I thould get bitten on tha butt more often," she exclaims wryly.
"Maybe you're just seeing what you've been too shy to reach for," Morgan suggests. He brushes out his skirts, and nods again. "Well, we'd best prepare then. I have some paper and ink in a drawer by the bed, for recording dreams. If you want to write down what you want to remember about all this, feel free." He waves, wiggling his fingers. "Rest a bit, too. This will be a big adventure."
