Lochinvar finds himself in the Dream Realm, in a dream version of Babel. Rephath appears, and asks Lochinvar whether he will assist in the capture of Rockmore. Lochinvar replies that he has answered already, and that he will seek out Rockmore and pass him over to the Babelites. Rephath gives Lochinvar her axe, which points in the direction of Rockmore. Lochinvar thereupon declares that, if Rockmore's location is already found, then he needs do no more. When Lochinvar is reminded that he said that he would "pass him over to" the Babelites, Lochinvar backpedals, suggesting he never promised such a thing, or that he doesn't recall. Cyprian goes on without Lochinvar, who then flies about, opting to go visit the mountain where Envoy is singing, then stopping, then going again, until Rephath comes up and kicks him in the hind end and shouts at him to do something, whether it be to shout in Rephath's face that he despises all she stands for, to go after Rockmore, or anything else just so long as he doesn't just stand there and watch. Lochinvar, annoyed, and with his honor called into question, flies off after Rockmore's airship, telling himself that it's not his fight.
