Olivia wakes up (for real) in her own bed and checks that she's still a Skeek. On her way to breakfast, she spots Gunther sleeping against a wall not far from her door, and figures he's been there all night watching over her. She fetches him a blanket and some breakfast, then goes to eat with the other apprentices.
During breakfast she finds out that someone made a mess of the storage room, although nothing was found stolen. The only clue to the culprit were some strange clawmarks that nobody could identify. This rekindles Olivia's sense of paranoia, and she goes to talk to Natasha.
Olivia has a brief run-in with Curiel, who asks her about decorative bottle-sleeves for their wine, and Olivia agrees to talk more about it with Curiel in a few days.
At the gypsy camp, her attempt to sneak past Djivan and Liliana leads to her running into Bravil, who just carries her the rest of the way to Natasha's wagon. The Khatta mage lets her in, and Olivia tells her about the nightmare, the sleepwalking and the events preceding it involving the baby troll and the voice recordings.
Natasha assures Olivia that her spirit is normal and that such shapeshifting abilities as would be needed by changeling-trolls are unheard of. She also sees how Olivia's troubled family past and other events could have caused the dream, and maybe even the sleepwalking, but she isn't an expert on such things.
Feeling partially reassured, Olivia asks if there's any kind of way to be certain, and Natasha offers to speak to Isolde about it.
