Who Bought Lord Mel?
(18 Oct 2001) Alice inquires of her parents where "Lord Mel" came from.
(Alice) (The Key)
Alice visits her father, reporting to him that although he claimed that her mother had bought "Lord Mel", her mother in turn claimed that her father had bought "Lord Mel". The elder Westfield, however, claims ignorance of ever buying the odd toy unicorn.

Over dinner, there is some discussion on the matter, as Alice's father still insists he simply doesn't remember buying the unicorn, whereas Alice's mother insists he did. Alice's brother claims he saw the unicorn with a "red ribbon" around its neck and a tag that proclaimed it as a gift from Alice's father, thus lending credence to the mother's side of the story. (Alice's father, however, is still befuddled, unable to remember for certain just what happened ten years ago.)

Alice's mother pulls out a photo album, with some photos of young Alice, as well as the preserved original tag that was on "Lord Mel" -- identifying him as a gift from Alice's father.
