The Troubles of Caer Sidi

Tom learns the story of Caer Sidi, how once it was not the desert that it is now, but that the waters that flowed from a nearby point stopped, and then some mysterious persons in black robes showed up, offering to use the magic of Pelles's cauldron to provide water. They did so, at prices low enough at first to dissuade merchants from bringing water from afar, then raised their prices to oppressive levels. She also mentions a prisoner that was brought by some centaurs from Mirari, heading West, and Tom wonders at just who this prisoner might be.

Tom relates the news of Randall, and how he had become a wraith in the service of the Destroyer, and pledges that he will try to help the people of Caer Sidi before continuing to the West.
