The Ripple
(11 Dec 2001) Alice and Agatha observe a disturbing phenomenon.

Alice and Agatha arrive at House October. While they are there, they observe a strange distortion of their surroundings that nobody else -- not even Kuon -- seems to notice ... with the possible exception of a tree-faerie by the name of Teirtu, who is briefly disoriented, and -- when asked by Agatha about his experience -- indicates that he has a strange feeling as if he's lost an old friend. A tree-woman takes Alice to the infirmary, but a healer there is unable to find anything wrong with her. When it's clear that two or even possibly three people may have been affected by this disturbance, Lord October is alarmed, and personally carries Alice back to her room.
