Alice, Agatha and Thomas travel back to the Siege of Stone and Water, in the "secret caves". There, they witness the magical arrival of a woman who bears only some resemblance to the Rebecca that they know. She claims to be Lady Sorceress Nymuae of the Lake, and acknowledges that Rebecca was a name that she once used, before she "broke the seal" on her own true identity. Thomas, doubtful, asks if Nymuae can prove her identity....
