The New Lord of the Manor
(2 Jul 2001) Agatha meets Richard, a retiree recently moved to Ainington. 		(Agatha)
Agatha looks through the woods around Danzwyck Stables in search of thrown horseshoes, so that she can keep every fourth one she returns to the stables, rather than claiming the quarter bounty. On her quest, she encounters an old man fishing at the river, accompanied by a lazy dog named "Kuon", and a black horse named Destre. Agatha learns that the man is Richard, a retiree recently moved to the old manor ("a fixer-upper") in Ainington. Agatha helps him reel in and clean a fish, and he helps her find another horseshoe -- claiming that Destre told him that she should look again in some bushes where it was located. Agatha asks him about whether his horse might have been running loose, and tells him about the incident with Alice and the growling animal and the "rescue" by a mysterious black horse that Alice supposed to be a unicorn. She also offers that some of the children may be interested in helping restore the manor over the summer.
