Agatha and Alice discuss the matter of what to do next, though momentarily distracted by Kuon's transformation from a dog into a small man -- the king's huntsman. Kuon the man apologizes for this suddenness, but indicates that this was the first point at which he was certain that they were not being listened in on. Alice decides to go visit the queen to inform her of the threat to Mirari posed by the Year's End, while Agatha determines to find out more about the fate of Lady Redmane.
