Teddy Bears, Kaleidoscopes and Ghosts

At Harcourt Manor, Alice and Agatha work on cleaning up some of the rooms in the house, while Agatha's older brother Toby works in the next room. Agatha leaves Alice alone in the room for a bit while she fetches some supplies, and Alice observes a slit eye peeking in through the window -- perhaps belonging to a lizard? Agatha comes back and they explore the room as they clean it, finding a toy box, and in that a stuffed teddy bear and a "telescope" that turns out to actually be a kaleidoscope. Alice witnesses the teddy bear actually getting up and walking out of the room, and the two girls fetch Kuon to track down the errant bear -- which they find in another room. They puzzle over what sort of strange magic might be at work ... and also hints that some creature may be loose in the house, perhaps spying on them.
