Siege of Wind
(21 Aug 2001) Agatha goes out walking after a day of horse-riding. NOTE: Players other than Agatha should not read this log. |
Even more bewildering is when she accepts, and is transported from the middle of summer into a place of winter -- and they are attacked by strange creatures seemingly made of piles of leaves, shambling underneath the snow. They manage to escape, but Sir Tristan indicates that though he wished Agatha to meet the Queen, they will be unable to reach her, with "House October" guarding the way.
Instead, they go to a city that belongs to House April -- to which this fey knight has his allegiance. There, he tells Agatha something of the peril of his land of Mirari, where time passes differently. He indicates that their King has left, and that so long as he is gone, Winter will never end. Agatha relates the vision of Elinor in their play-acting, and Tristan agrees that he believes that the King has left of his own will -- and to Agatha's own world. Agatha privately surmises who she supposes might be this King, but asks Tristan questions while she can -- about the jruuh, about the Crow named Ryland of Avarre, and about the Year's End.
At last, it is time to take Agatha back, but Tristan loans her his horse, Souhait, a fey horse that he claims will be able to take care of itself, and answer her call when she needs him.
