Thomas, Sir Lefallon and Rachel discuss the implications of the letter -- that the Destroyer may well be back in Mirari, posing at Lord April, and that the real Lord April may be imprisoned in the West. During this exchange, Sir Lefallon lets slip that he is of House April -- a fact that Rachel was not aware of, and she is bitter that no one thought to inform her of this before now. Tom does his best to defuse the situation, but it is Lefallon's own strong assertion of his own intentions -- and making a pledge three times over -- that finally convinces Rachel to relent. They press on to Galon Annwn, to help Caer Sidi.
