Intruder at the Tree House
Thursday (26 Sep 2001) Tom's time out at his tree house is interrupted by an uninvited guest. 		(Agatha) (The Trials of Anwynn) (Baum Woods)

Tom works on the roof of his tree house, which is nearing completion. However, he spots Sabrina (aka "Bragwaine") in the lower branches of the very tree he's working in! She apparently arrived after he stopped hammering, because she gives no indication of being aware that there's a tree house above her head (or that Tom's in it). Tom decides to take advantage of this opportunity to sneak up on Sabrina and scare her. He succeeds, but she reacts by flailing about and then falling out of the tree when he surprises her. Tom grabs her, but is unable to keep her from falling, so instead they both tumble out, landing in the bushes, though Tom cushions Sabrina's fall with his own body.

Sabrina, despite Tom's split-second heroics, is not very happy with the whole situation, though as he apologizes, she calms down ... and then makes the most of his guilt by using it as leverage to get him to allow her to "hang out" with him for a while. He lets slip the existence of his tree house, and she begs and pleads to learn more of it. At last, he relents, but only under a promise from her that she'll reveal the secret to no one else.

While Tom is showing off the tree house, Agatha shows up, play-acting the role of Redmane -- and quite apparently in pursuit of "Bragwaine". Sabrina begs Tom to delay Agatha long enough for her to get a good head start, so Tom plays the part of a "forest changeling" to go down and test "Knight Redmane" as part of her quest....
